I asked Corn the other day to end my Platinum membership when it ran out. I was charged $71.82 on June 1, 2004 and that was for 6 months plus 1 month. I became a nonplat sometime right around Christmas.

I looked on my Paypal account and it has a charge of $71.82 on December 31, 2004 for another 6 months.

Nothing like charging someone and giving them nothing. The American way of doing business. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.

You go EF. Hooray.

This site really needs an easy way to cancel your membership. You should just be able to go to a page and cancel. When I canceled mine, I had to track down someone via pm's and it was a pain in the ass. Maybe people just give up and stay plat.

I just realized that I am plat. How??? I never signed up for a platinum membership. Never have.

In light of this thread I want to make sure I'm not going to be charged for anything given that I never signed up.

Can someone clarify this and enlighten me as to why I'm suddenly a plat member??

We need your full name, paypal email address, phone number, and name on the boards. I made you Platinum again until we get this corrected. I am sorry for the inconvenience, but we will get this worked out.

When eBay bought PayPal, they messed up things for the few Platinum Members using PayPal because they did not want to be associated with this site any longer because of our content.

Billing for Platinum Memberships is now done by credit card and everyone seems happy. It is now very easy to cancel a Platinum Membership in "Your Account" in our new order system. I'll even give you a free eBook of your choosing for the inconvenience you have suffered and I hope we will one day be able to earn back your trust and business.

wutangnomo, we appreciate your being here for a full year and so we gave you a 10 day Platinum Trial. I hope you will upgrade your membership, but we have not charged you for the trial - we just wanted you to know that we appreciate you on your 1 year anniversary.
