Intensity and motivation going down

lucabrasi

New member
I've been reading the forums here for about 2 years now and have learned a shit load from you guys. Thanks. I actually just became a Platinum member today. I thought you used to be able to do searches on here without being a Platinum Member?

Anyway, I'm having serious motivation problems. I'm 27 years old and have been hitting the steel for about 12 years now. But back in the day I used to think about getting in the gym all day and then go kill myself in there. I wouldn't miss a day and I would push myself to the limits all the time. I was in great shape.

I'm still in pretty good shape but I am losing that drive I used to have. Now, I see myself leaving the gym after 40 minutes and barely do cardio and abs. It sucks because I want to get back to loving it. Sometimes I just need to get some new supps/juice and it gets me back into it full throttle. I just know that isn't a good reason to get on another cycle, or is it?

I've done 4 cycles and my last one was about a year and a half ago. Any thoughts on how to get fired up again......I'm pretty sure it's just up to me not being a little bitch. But I am thinking of going back on again.

Thanks.

You shouldn't use cycles to get motivated. True motivation comes from w/in. I'm motivated to make progress whether I'm on or off. I consider myself a warrior. I'm always up for a battle... ;)

For sure, even though prop & tren does wonders for my motivation.
I agree though, you shouldnt use juice as your motivation unless you plan on never coming off (which would be pretty dumb IMO...) Becuase when you do come off in a few months, youre back to square 1.
What it all boils down to, really, is HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT?

This may sound really stupid to some people but I don't give a fuck.. My motivation is Women....I love women....... and everything about them...
I strive to look my best for myself but women find the life we live a very unique lifestyle that not all can do....It takes a great deal being dedicated to our body and women have been my motivation...

What ever works...

Peace.

Starting is the most difficult....once you go for about 1 week, the motivation will kick back in....All you have to do is get the image in your mind as to how you want to look.....My motivation comes from my desire and drive to achieve a specific goal....Find that desire and the rest will fall in place..........

I'd also like to add that I love training. I'll train til I die. It's my addiction. I just don't feel good if I don't train.

jrlex, I'm with you on that one man. And come to think of it, when my girlfriend and I moved in together that's when I saw the motivation go down. I'll get my ass in gear, literally. jk.

But it's almost like being in the gym sucks because i'm not what i used to be so I get all pissed and. I still lift 2-3 a week and like I said, I'm not a slob by any means. I just want that "top of the world" feeling. Gotta get mentally prepared on what I want and go for it.

Why not?

Anyway a new goal and a new cycle will bring some freshness to what can grow stagnant and routine. It can also help bring back pleasant memories of times when you were more motivated. I know when I aspire to a new goal it is very invigorating

Why not? :worried: . So you think it's OK to rely on drugs in order to train? Well, I can't help ya bro. Sorry.

So what happens when you come off....?

Do you enjoy making up an argument, assigning it to someone and then arguing against it? I can argue against myself too and I always win

If you're after a certain age you may not need to come off at all

Also, sparking motivation with a new goal which includes a cycle does not make loss of motivation after the cycle ends inevitable, he may decide to lean out afterwards for instance and continue his training

and while it is probably preferable for him to wish to train all the time, he will be training more this way than if he quit altogether

The only thing that is going to motiviate you is....YOU! So you gotta really decide if it is what you really want. Personally I wish I could sit around all day, jerking off or whatever, eating whatever the fuck I want to and be all happy and crap, but I cannot. SO I hit it hard and eat well and that is what makes me happy. Seeing that measuring tape go another 1/4 inch up around my arms makes me happy :)

I have plenty of self motivation however some days Thermorexin really helps me out.

Results are linked to motivation in most people's case

Gear will assist him in getting better results and he may find himself more motivated knowing that his potential is greater

Yo,
Luca Brasi sleeps with the fish right?. :chomp:
Set goals, make gains, meet the goals...
Look at yourself in the mirror each morning.
Tell yourself what you are going to do.
Get on a consistent training and nutrition regimen.
Write everything down if you need to see what you are going to do.
Reward yourself somehow when you feel like you've made serious progress.

think about something that really pisses you off right before you are about go to the gym and use that as your motivation. for instance, i have been thriving off of someone ripping the mirrors off of my car AND someone who told me i was a -5 on the badass scale of 1 to 10 and he told me he knew ppl that would shit all over me. sooo when i hit the weights thats all i think about. get pumped up man.

Yo - thanks for everyone's input. I went in there this morning and had one of the best workouts I've had in months. I think I was getting a bit discouraged because I knew I had fell off a bit and it would take some time to get back to where I was. But if getting diesel happened over night everyone would be a monster.

Still think I'm gonna hit something up in a month or so. It's almost summer time for christ sakes! It's about 60 in NYC today, first nice day all F'n year. The weather plays a big part in the motivation factor too.

Yeah man its all about MENTAL TOUGHNESS you have to get that from within most definatly, its something I pride myself on and you definatly cant inject that, get that mental edge back first then go "on" again because if you dont then its time to hang it up and become another average joe, I mean just look around at everybody else thats your age and just see if you want to blend in with them or do you want to be more and stand out.

we've all been there i mean unmotivated.. I've been there more than once were humans. I found out I always need a goal whether its to get ready for a comp. or get to a certain weight or bodyfat a goal always helps

Hey man I was like that about a year ago or so, I stopped playing football and right now going to my senior year of College with out football, I didnt see any motivation working out etc........ but realize that I wanted to do this for myself and started to train again, even though is not for anything anymore, as far speed, strength etc.... to become a better athlete actually doing it now for me and for looks and if you were off for a while just take it slow!!! gains would get there even naturally if you were out of sink in the wight room for a while!!!

what i usually do is set a competition with a friend. whether it be max deadlift, bench, squat, etc. usually put about a hundred bucks on it or so. then i work my ass off to win, so i can say i won. a hundred bucks helps too, but i usually end up spending it on both of us in a after competition feast or something :)

I'm with you on that. I played college ball too but had to sit out my senior year because I tore my pec and had surgery. It was easy to get motivated when you knew how much it would help you on the field.

I had another great workout this morning and I think I'm getting back to being hooked. I can't wait for the results to start kicking in....the more I get the results the more motivated I am.

You have to find something else then, that motivates you....If it's not going to be your girlfriend then it should be another women that you desire to impress..

Like I said, this is my motivation...It works for me ...and what ever works....works............ju-know wat I mean.

Your motivation should be at the top of the list of goals...

For instance:

You could have all the gear in the world staring you in your face, waiting for you to start your cycle..

You could have your diet down pat

You could even have your schedule routine done pat..

All of the above would not mean shit if your motivation isn't there... Trust me..

I've thrown cycles down the drain because I wasn't motivated..

Find your motivation....it will make you and get you to where you need to be...

Good luck brother...

Peace..

JR.

I always get a little more motivated when I start a cycle. Kind of puts the urgency back in it for me. I use the off time to cut and lose some water.
