Insulin use question

I have everything ready for my first insulin shot... Proteins , glutamine, creatine, carboplus (carbs)...

After the shot, the rule is 1iu for 10g of carbs .., however is it simplex carbs or complex carbs? I got a box with complex carbs but I think I need a fast acting one (simplex)... If so , I would put the box away and simply use dextrose which I have...

Any feedback?
