injury questions

due to a shoulder injury i will be out for about 2or 3 weeks (hopefully). How long does it take for you to start losing the muscle you have when you are not workingout? Also, i was wondering if people who hurt there shoulder lifted light weights during the time they were supposed to be out. I hate just stopping and the pain is definitely bearable. any thoughts?

Man you have an injury ? so just take the time necessary for your shoulder to get back. I understand that you must love to train but be reasonnable.

A 2-3 week lay-off is generally OK....however,I would caution you against trying to resume your prior levl of lifting when you are "released".Pay attention to the advice your doc gives you...or if he gives you crappy advice,e-mail me.You can still use a sno-ball or other grip strengthener, isotonic exercises, and things like that to mantain your tone.

definitely wait the 2-3 weeks. you'll actually probably gain muscle the first week or so as your body has a chance to completely heal itself without getting broken down again by weight training.
