injection questions

Before I do my first shot I want to make sure I have everything right. I have 250 mg/ml test e in individual ampules.

1. break ampule open
2. draw w/ 25g 1.5" needle into 2cc syringe
3. inject into glute w same needle

Please let me know if this sounds right and what I should be careful for, etc... thanks

I would draw it up with a 22 g and then put on the 25 for shooting. the 25 would be hard to suck up the oil. it pretty thick. But you have right idea. good luck with cycle

hopefully you plan on using an alcohol swab on the injection site prior to pinning.

ya at a minimum on the injection site, maybe on the top of the ampule and the syringe. are there any nerves i need to watch out for in the glutes and quads? i checked out spotinjections but they show all types of spots on the quads so im not sure which place would be best.

Use the upper outer quadrent on both the glute and the quad.

and DO NOT TOUCH THE SYRINGE!

The needle is already sterile, do not touch it (as Miplank has stated).

You need to use a different pin when injecting. Switch them out after drawing and injecting. It is better as the pin will not be dull and also is more sterile. Make sure you use alcohol (prep pads) on your injection site (the body has contaminates that can enter the skin when broken by pin).

Miplank is dead on to ensure that you use the upper outer area when injecting.

AND PLEASE remember to aspirate with all IM injections!

Ok, thanks alot guys, my only question is using different pins. Since I am drawing from a sterile ampule and not a vial the needle shouldn't be contaminated or dulled in the process right? I have 22 1.5s, 25 1s and 25 1.5s so I could use any of these.

you're right...I think angel thought you were drawing from a vial.


The only reason you would switch guages on pins would be to draw out the gear from the ampule faster.

ok, also is it neccesary to use a new syringe every time or do you reuse the same one? i got alot of 3cc syringes.

Using ampule is fine- the needle obviously will not get dull if it has nothing to push through!

that one is more accurate actually. Spotinjections.com is a bit off on some of it, like the glute shot area includes a little of the lower portion which can risk hitting the sciatic nerve and you don't want to hit this!

for quads i can see my veins so i just try and pin between them lol so i don't hit 'em. the site above gives where to inject, it's about the middle of your thigh but in the *outer* portion, syringe/needle will be almost parallel to the floor.

ventrogluteal is another good spot u might want to research.

also, i think i read something about using the same needle that you drew from? don't do that. you want to use a fresh new needle to inject with. piercing to draw will dull the needle, that's why you want a fresh needle. you can draw with a 20-21g and pierce with a 23-25g.

is it ok to draw and inject from a plastic ampule. The ampule is 20ml with what looks like a screw top lid. Or should draw it and put it in a glass vial?
