Injecting H2O2

Isnt that the most ridiculous thing you've ever heard!! I think I slightyl tore my pec where it attaches up at the shoulder. This happens anytime I start to go a little heavy on flat bench and its not really heavy for me. So I had 335 on and on the 7th rip I felt a little tear. I havent done chest for 3 weeks or so and a guy in th egym was asking why I havent been doing chest and thus I told him.
---His response: "Man u have pins right? Take 3cc's of hydrogen peroxide and inject that right into the muscle." Now he was dead serious says he does it when he gets hurt and pulls or tears something. Says I will feel a terrible burn for about 10 min and it will bubble up from the H2O2 reacting in there but get this it helps the muscle heal SUPER quick. Ill be doing chest in 3 days he tells me.
I cant believe people.

uh... isn't h2o2 toxic? am I missing something here? It is for EXTERNAL use only, isn't it (that and at high concentrations it is decent for rocket fuel...)

well do you think its toxic? it comes in 3% solutions (maybe 5) and youre still not supposed to swallow a drop of it.

:D

yes it is for external use only: though when you have a gaping wound it can be applied there too for aseptic issues. Even in human cells when h2o2 is inadvertantly formed during cellular respiration we have a mechanism to get rid of this toxic substnace. So in theory if we needed it inside us to help us heal we could have plenty.
people and their stupidity amaze me.

hell, all I know is that the germans used VERY high concentration h2o2 as rocket fuel in the me-163 komet (rocket plane) and I think the pilots needed to wear a special rubber suit in case some of the h2o2 leaked onto them - apparently it ate skin and tissue away immediately on contact - scary. I'll stick with the 3% stuff on external wounds thanks :).

Hydrogen Peroxide(H2O2) is incredibly acidic.

You would fry your skin off. Being serious here, you would get a nice chemical burn from it. I have seen it happen in the chem lab.
Not pretty at all.

tell that dude you want to watch him next time he does it, let us know what it looks like lol, can't believe he said that

True, but not with the stuff you buy at target. I dont think he meant high concentration lab stuff.

Not that I would ever advocate a ridiculous thing like this, but I do know that drinking a few drops of it doesnt kill you, it makes you throw up.

In fact, I had to do this to make my dog throw up when she ate some stuff she shouldnt have. And it was the vet that told me to do it.
