Infidelity and technology

Has the improvement in technology been a major catalyst for the explosion in infidelity/divorce.

Specifically, i'm talking about the advent of mobile phones and the internet/e-mail. Think about it.......how much easier is it to cheat through the use of mobiles and the internet. Personal contact or home phone numbers are no longer needed.

I don't think it's any conincidence personally. Sure there are other factors involved, but it has made the job of cheating much easier.

I know two women who had affairs via the internet and divorced their husbands. One married the guy and the other is just living with the man but they've been together for years now. Both women were in awful marriages to begin with and they found "true love" via the net and are very happy years later. I know some men who have flat out cheated on their wives via the net but they had no intentions other than getting their rocks off. Cheating is cheating and if you want to do it you will...I think the net, cell phones, etc. does make it easier if your partner isn't computer savy, but if they are, watch out, you will get busted! I think there are more temptations with technology, but that doesn't mean you have to give in to them.

I didn't mean it to come across quite like that! Those are just people I personally know who have cheated on their partners via the net. In these situations it just happens that the women I knew wanted to find a better relationship and the guys were just looking for sex. I'm sure it goes both ways though! Afterall, the guys did cheat with other women...although I don't know if the girls were in relationships or single...and I don't ask. LOL

Like I said, cheating is cheating. I wasn't defending the women.
