Implementing insulin.

About six seven years ago, I started experimenting with insulin(Humulin R) I would do anywhere from 10-15 iu's pwo intramuscularly. I couldn't get my hands on Humalog at the time so I figured that doing IM would expedite the absorption rate because there is more blood vessels and less adipose tissue in that area. When you inject AAS oil depot into fat it slows the reate of release so I figured it would be the same for slin. I would use it for a month then go off for about a month because I had always heard the horror stories about making yourself diabetic. Had the onset of hypo a few times but knew how to quell that(white grape juice) and I would only go hypo when I would inject sub-q on non-workout days.
Well, after reading GK's articles on it it looks like IM injections are out. My question is this. I've got some Humalog coming and I was reading the "cat outta the bag" article about using Humulin-R before meals at 3 iu's and Humalog pwo at 10-15 iu's. Is this still the best protocol? At 3 iu's of R, I'm comfortable with that, anything above 4-5 I would not be, as monitoring would be too much. I don't know if I'm forgetting anything here, but I beleive that is it.
Also, do I have to include the R to get the benfits form an insulin protocol.

Sounds like a dangerous game of "cat and mouse" LOL
I have not read the articles you speak.
When I am on (1 month on 1 month off, just as you said) I do 10 iu of R in the morning and then 10 in the afternoon PWO. If I ever get to 250 I will add another 10 in the evening. Humalog has the shorter active window but harder to get. I thought that was the only benefit over R. For people who have not been able to get humalog could they not substitute R in your protocol? I guess I would have to find the article you are referencing to understand it more.

I included the article called AP (Almost Pro) guide to insulin use. It's long but really good. I've got some experience with slin so this is just icing on the cake. Haven't used it in years and am kind of a plateau right now. I've got my Humalog and Humulin-R on the way from Canada as we speak.
