Implants and bodybuilding

Anyone else have implants and weight train?? I'm now back at the gym and on task with my lifting but the pull downs seem to feel real funny in my chest. I know woman can get pretty big with implants but how do you go about working the chest muscle back in to the routine??

Yep. Are yours under or over the muscle? For women with unders, it takes longer to get back into the swing of things, because your pecs have to get used to the implant being under there.

I have unders and I think I waited about 3 months before working chest, and then I started back really light. Also, for any other exercise that felt "funny", I took it light and gradually worked back into it. I remember that pulldowns felt weird for me at first. Now I'm lifting more with implants than without. Not that I was a really heavy lifter, but heavy for me.

Mine are unders too. I guess that's why it feels so strange. I'm only 8 weeks post-op and the Dr said it was ok to start chest weights but I think another month may be better.
Thanks for the reply!!

So glad to read this post. I have had my "overs" for about seven years now. Due to my dieting and low BF, I have decided to go under the knife again and switch them out for some "unders". I have my consultation next week and one of my questions was about training chest and recovery. I have heard quite a few horror stories about training chest and the implants being pushed down and out of place. It was never an issue with the overs. Problem with them is rippling with low BF. Currently I am in my bulking phase, but I guess I wil have to give the chest a rest for a few months. How long until you can train other body parts or do cardio?

I have "unders". My doctor told me to wait 6 months until after my surgery to lift chest. I waited six months and now it has been a year and a half. After the 6 months I started doing chest again.
Got to where I was gettin pretty strong and I could see definition between the implant and the muscle. Needless to say, it was kinda scary.
I haven't been lifting chest for the past 7 months and they are looking back to normal. I plan on not lifting chest anymore unless it is EXTREMELY light and only to maintain. I called my doctor about the definition between the implant and the muscle. He also recommended that I stop lifting chest permanently unless it was extremely light and not that often.
I am still lifting hard on my upper body and not lifting chest hasn't made any difference whatsoever. I think I am gonna stick to what I am doing.
Hopefully this helps!!!

I don't need fake ones, yet I have always been a D or DD naturally, but since I have been lifting I have noticed them getting smaller. :( I will probably get them done if I go below a C cup. I never thought about how the under the muscle would effect the gym though. Definately something to think about.

Well ,I was never really big on top but what I did have seemed to dwindle to nothing from weight loss and weight training!! My arms were getting bigger and my boobs were getting flatter!!LOL!! I actually had men coming up to me telling me that my arms were big. Granted I do build muscle easy but I want to look Feminine too!! I think maybe I'll stay away from the chest a bit longer but the exersicise I was doing was for my back!! Maybe I need to stick to the other back machines instead.

I'm in the same boat, but I'm actually happy about them shrinking a bit! Think about it--you're losing fat all over, not just from there. So your breasts may not look that much smaller because they are shrinking in proportion to everything else on your body.

I wish I could say the smae but believe me the rest of my body looked better than ever and my chest looked like two flat saggy balloons!!! or pancakes!!! It really was that bad!!!I was only a 36 B before and I shrunk to a flat saggy A, B cup!! I was starting to look like a guy!!!

Yeah, even sometimes now I do back excercises and it feels kinda funny in my chest. So, I just go lighter with the weight and usually after keeping it lighter for a few weeks on that excersise the weird feeling goes away. Or I just avoid the excersises that make it feel weird.
