Barely. The hurricane wasnt that bad, it went down to a catagory 2 when it finally hit us. My parish was the hardest hit because it was JUST east of the eye so we got hit by the entire eye wall. All around town you see electrical poles down, trees blocked many roads, all the electric in the parish and surrounding parishes were down. Surprisingly not many houses got smashed. There were ALOT of trees that fell, but most missed the houses by meer inches. I had a 100 year old oak in my backyard fall down, missed our house by less than a foot. I was outside for most of the hurricane under the car part. It was pretty cool, but I got blown down once 
. My roof didnt come off, but all the shingles did. We got electric back in our parish last night. It was down for 3 days. We got cable (I have cable modem) back today. Phone lines never went down, I was calling all my friends during the hurricane 
. It got fucking HOT here without air conditioner. I have a generator but had to use it to power the fridge so the food wouldnt spoil. There was only one death due to the hurricane, and ironically it was after the hurricane was well over with. A woman died from carbon monoxide poisoning from her generator. Oh yea, alot of places got flooded also.
Oh yea, Lafayette had electric down and was hit almost as hard as this place was. Baton Rouge got off with very little at all. Bet you're pissed that you went to Lafayette huh Golfer?
. There's some places that still don't have electric and won't have it until the 10th, I feel bad for them 
. Entergy had a major outage because a tornado hit a power station. Cox Cable (my cable service) had a major outage too because a tornado knocked down the tranmission tower and knocked it right on to the Cox building. Good, I hate Cox .
All in all it was a cool experience. But I'm fucking beat red from having to haul that damn tree that fell in my yard today.
