I've had a cold for a week now, my voice is slowly coming back but I cant shake this cough, it gets so strong it makes me throw up or tear up because I cant breath/choke, I've taken all the stupid medication the Dr gave me, how is it we can put artifacts n space but we cant figure out common colds.... fucking technology :(

Z pack and some delsym. I just started shaking my cough today after 2 weeks. I had same symptoms as do most coming into the ER this time of year. But seriously get some Delsym for your cough, it's good shit; or have your doc right you for some tessalon pearls.
 
Holy fuck, delsym sucks. That shit never works for me. Maybe because i smoked for 19 yrs and destroyed my airways, who knows. Anywsy, Rx cough meds are like gold

Interesting, both my wife and I get great results from Delsym. Plus it's great for kids and pregnant woman bc it's alcohol free.

Damn virus ran thru my whole family starting with my husband on Sept. 28, I came down with it about 48 hours after him, his daughter started up about three days after me. You get over the worst of it within a few days but it takes two or so weeks to shake the cough. I just took Mucinex so the cough was productive (and some goldenseal to sooth mucus membranes). Hang in there, Nan (I did the pukey coughs, too, sucks the big one).

I just got over mine. I feel for ya chica!:(

I went the doc and he prescribed me steroids. Seriously for a cold and a slight sore throat? wow, perfect, I must not have look sick and raggedy enough to make him think that maybe there is a chance my immune system cant handle such harsh drugs currently.

Seriously, fastest way to get better is to take time off and rest instead of try to push through the cold.
