Is it ok to mix a couple glasses of wine with ativan? I am taking ativan to take the edge offanxiety not takindg it much but made the mistake of taking today then going to lunch and having too much wine. I'm not gonna die or something am I? I feel very relaxed and out of it. Help!!!!

OK...did you take your normal daily dosage (how many)? It is generally not a good idea to mix anx meds and alcohol, but not usually fatal unless you are trying to OD.

You'll be out of it for a little while, assuming you didn't take more than your daily dose, but you'll be fine.

Don't drive, goes without saying.

Breathe deep. More oxygen has a calming effect.

Try to drink a couple of glasses of water, this will help and try to relax. The drug you mentioned and a couple glasses of wine will not kill you. You need to drink water and possibly go home from work a little early to relax or take a nap.

Ceebs is right on. Unless you went nuts on the ativan you'll be fine. People I used to know mixed these all the time in sizable doses and they were fine, just hard to talk to.

personally i wouldnt take ativan for anxiety but for a sleep aid only at bedtime. regardless a couple of glasses of wine or beers will only increase the affect of activan, no big deal just enjoy it and do not operate heavy equipment or machinery.
