after all we've been through you're gonna give it to someone ELSE?
damn you.

at your age you should put the bulk of the money into large cap growth funds. No need to spread it out over a ton of funds, pick 5 or so and go with it. I'd suggest one of each:
Large cap
Small cap
mid cap
international

then just choose one for fun

As long as it's final value is at least that of your karma hits total (114,118).

I spread it out a little more and went with mostly small to moderate growth options

why spread it out more? and why no large cap funds, those heavy hitters pay off big when the economy starts rolling.

I don't have much to play with right now and am in this for the long haul so smal and moderate growth funds were the way to go. I can and will move my money around as I go along, but for now, this is best

So you don't have much to play with now but you spread it around to more then 4-5 funds?

I started out like you, was in like 12 funds, thought it was cool, realized I had a LOT of redundancy going on and just picked some and stuck with it.

Also I had some moeny in bonds which was stupid, I'm 28, no need to be conservative with the 401k now.. plenty of time for the low risk/low yield funds when I approach retirement.
