........I have been doing the 5x5 routine for about 3 months now. I pick one core exercise and do 5x5 and then I do 2 other exercises at 10-12 reps for 2 sets each. Although I have deffiantly gotten stronger, I haven't really grown that much. Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of the 5x5, but I just feel that I have somewhat plateud from it and I need a change. Since right now my goals aren't really with strength, but more towards size, I was thinking about just going with a simple 3 sets of 4 exercises at 10 reps for my major muscles and 3 sets of 2 exercises for my smaller ones. I'm planning on doing an anavar cycle after Dec, so like I said, I'm not concerned with my strength, but would like to grow as much as possible till then. Here is what my planned splits will look like:
Mon-Chest/Front Delts
Tues-Back/Rear+Side Delts
Wed-Off
Thur-Legs
Fri-Arms
Sat-Off
Sun-Off
P.S.-For whatever reason, my body has always responded better to higher reps(8-10) then lower ones(3-5).
