2 hours? How do you know it'll be in two hours?

it's because of the time difference. his wife already had the kid over there but we're 2 hours behind them here on Eastern Daylight Savings Time. DUH.

YAY!!!

Please, please, please post pictures of your little miracle!

YAY!!! Well, I'm going go go metric on y'all here: 50cms and 3.2 kgs. Everybody is ok, baby doesn't even cry, he is just there, eyes open, looking at everything, drink his milk and it's simply generally happy. Ohhh, if that could last for a year or two.

Pics will come shortly, in the meantime, K for all my peeps!!! (when I come back tonight from the clinic)

3.2 kg is a little over 7 lbs
50cms is 19.68 inches

Awesome that everyone is ok. Glad to hear he is a good boy for ya'll...
What's his name? Does this now make 2 boys?

Congrats!

Your wife is having a baby at a clinic? Dont you guys have hospitals over there?

we call hospitals "klinik". (in this case a Frauenklinik, a womans hospital) and in spanish is a "clinica", so hospital = clinic

and I knew it was 2 hours because of it being a planned c-section

So did you have a pink or a blue?

wouldn't it be Andreas?

i dont know. pinto speaks some crazy language- that's all i know.

I was thinking along the lines of his language too, so I guessed it would be pronounced that way. I'm prolly wrong!

Where the hell is he? I want to see that beautiful baby. :)

LOL, the name is pronounced Ann-Dress (stilleto nailed it, like Perk does his trannies). The emphasis is on the "Dress" part.

Ok, for pics, let me see what I have here... hold on:

This is one is when the poor thing was about 30 minutes old, the mommy was still in the OP room and they take you out while they do all the closing-up. The nurse cleans the baby and tells you, "ok, now open your shirt a bit so that he feels the skin/warmth and can hear the heart beating"... then she goes and leaves you there for an hour. I couldn't help but think "That shower this morning was a good idea..."

image00.jpg

This one is already a bit later, once we went down to the room with all the family. The baby as I mentioned is very quiet (not like our first). He just drinks and goes to sleep. Boy, am I happy with that... (notice that despite the pink paraphernalia, he is a boy...)

image01.jpg

This one here is our boy Daniel, playing with his new little brother. He seems to be taking it lightly and we are going to great lenghts to make him feel Andres is his own, so we encourage him to help us with little tasks about Andres and he laughs... He already says he is little brother and it's called Andres. We also made sure Andres brought Daniel a present the day he came home, so that helped a bit on that critical first day too...

image03.jpg

Finally, this is how I kept you virgins up to date and was dishing karma (and sending mails/chatting with half Venezuela) while at the clinic... the funny thing is that cells are forbidden, of course, and everytime the door opened I had to throw that shit under the blankets.

Good times.

Oh wow, he's BEAUTIFUL! Great, now I think I'm lactating all over my shirt...lol. I love that first picture of him, especially. It shows how tender and vulnerable and sweet those first moments are. Isn't it the most wonderful thing in the world?

now about that dripping breast, get a pump woman!

Such a beautiful baby. Congrats! The BIG BROTHER is adorable too.

You can always tell a C-section baby too. They do not have the battle wounds from a natty birth. No mis-shapen heads, etc. :)

hahaha! I have a pump. I don't usually need it anymore. Only problem is if I go a LONG time without feeding Devin or I see a pretty baby. Then I get "leaky."

lol.

Anyway, he is absolutely a gorgeous baby -- perfect in every way.

Well, I didn't know that could happen, I always thought the baby's mouth and suction was the stimulus, not a visual. Interesting.

Yes, even if you are just THINKING about your baby, your boobs will sometimes start to spray or drip milk. We women can feel what is called "let down" which is the signal to your brain to let the milk go. It happens in warm showers, when we think tender/motherly thoughts, and of course when our babies begin to nurse. Each woman is different, though.

Don't forget they leak when babies cry too.
