I'm losing weight and you aren't

I hadn't checked the scale in over a week - checked over the weekend and I'm just about 175lbs.

I'm losing weight like a bulimic before the big dance.

Just from looking at my girlish figure, I imagine I still "need" to lose more fat, but the muscle needs to be adjusted a bit - don't need the upper body muscle at all aside from abs.

My calves are ridiculously out of proportion at this point - but I'm not all veiny yet - only in my forearms and a bit in my legs.

In the end, I only care about my times - so once I start getting real speedwork in, this will prove to be interesting.

Also - my farts have a stench that I would normally only associate with someone very fat or the elderly

Are you still only 5' 4"

at least.
I might even be 5'3".

I don't have any measuring devices, nor cameras at my residence, otherwise I'd be all up in that place.

The only measurement I can give is that trying to wrap my hands around my calves will result in the fingers not touching.

I got that same thing, except it's my Unit..

As you can tell by my avtanar, not only have I lost weight, I have a fashionable new hair style.

I would call that hairdo the "Pre Comb-Over" ..

See all that comb-over hair to the side ?

My hair isn't thinning as much anymore.
I swear it grows faster here, even though everything I have read says that hair growth is not a function of heat, so it shouldn't matter.

I'm just trying to get down to 5min miles for more than 10 miles at a time.
So far I'm not even close - but I am giving myself lots of time.

what distances do you run? what is your training like? also, how can I join the Special Olympics team and run with you?

I'm racing a 10K in January - I don't expect to do too well in that - but would love to be pleasantly suprised. There will be world caliber racers in that, so I'm not going to worry too much about it.
I will shoot for 34mins and I should be able to break that (that isn't a good time).

I'm racing a half marathon next May and that is when I'd like to be hitting 5:09 per mile - but again, I don't think I will be in that kind of shape by then.

If I can run 5:30 per mile by then, I will be competetive in that particular race - but I would very much like to be much lower than that per mile.

It might take as long as two to three years before I'm in the shape that I'm looking for.

As for workouts, I follow Jack Daniels' book and program.
I vaguely track my heart rates and I'm trying to get my feel for the paces back.
I am looking into tracking blood O2 levels and lactate levels - but only if I can do it without pricking my finger (I know that they make some IR systems - I just don't know if those do lactate checks).

Man I'm gassy.

I used to follow this same program back in High School..
We called it the "Jack Black" training regimen
