I'm getting free cable! Yeah!!

The digital cable box in my bedroom was fucking up, so I went and got it replaced. When I hooked up the replacement box it gave me ALL channels, not just the ones I subscribed to. Now I'm getting all the Cinemax, The Movie Channel, Showtime, and Flix channels, plus a sports package, and about 6 other channels for free.
I'm thinking about moving this cable box into the living room.

This happened to me once before about 4 years ago. When I first got hooked up, the cable company didnt have a box to give me for my bedroom. They told me to come back in a week and they would have one. When I hooked it up, the same thing happened. The channels were like this for about 4 months. Then one day I came home and the channels were what they were supposed to be.
But this time, I'm going to unhook the cable going to the box everytime I'm not using it so they can't send a "ping" to it to reset it, which they probably do to everyone on occasion for maintenance reasons or whatever.

I don't watch much TV, but still...

I'm not stealing it intentionally. A guy I knew got taken to court because he bought a descrambler over the internet, and they traced his credit card back to him. He was taken to court and sued for $3,500 by one of the big satellite dish companies.
Now, he intentionally set out to steal cable for free, and was able to do it successfully until that happened.
I, on the other hand, was physically given the box by my cable company to use. If it gives me all the channels, that isn't because of something I intentionally did to the cable box. If anyone was at fault, it would be the lady at the counter at the cable company office that handed me the box without checking it out.
Heck, for all I know, I wouldn't even realize that I was getting these channels for free. I know I didn't subscribe to them, so why would I even have a reason to click on one of these channels? (the only reason i checked is because it happened before)

I've been paying $19.99/month for all cable channels and Broadband Internet for 2 years now. I was never supposed to have the TV part but the installers hooked it up so I said what the hey! The internet was supposed to go up to $39.99/month after 6 months but it never did.

As soon as they put out their hit to the box for their report & it's noticed - they'll shut it off.....
