insulating my attic. The worker I hired quit on me. lol He had another job at Six Brothers diner (Bilestew!) to go to and left early yesterday without notice.
Anyway, I may have 5% left to finish up. I programmed my thermostats to gop on and off at different times of the day with different temps and i was VERY surprised at how efficient everything is working. I love it! I have 2 units, one for each floor. The first floor heat goes on at 6AM to 72 and shuts down to 70 at 10AM. It does'nt take it that long to get to 72 and it just cruises after that. This is the good part. Since it gets to 72 and it's set to 70 a few hours later, then 66 overnight, which is my "off" temp, It does NOT need to run adter it initially hits 72!!! That is crazy. So my (first fl.) heat is only on for about 1.5-2 hours the whole day. I used to set it about 74 or so for 24/7 on"override" but now it's great! I can't wait to see my energy bill.
The upstairs is always warm from the first fl. heat going up there, so it does'nt really go on much. That is "off" at 70 all day and gets turned on at about 10PM at 74 until morning when the first fl. turns on and essentially causes the upstairs to get so hot and turn off the T-stat up there. (it gets to the 80s)
I'm not rereading this post... I'm sure it's confusing. Ehh, you love me anyway.
Oh, and when I check the temp at all hours of the night, it's pegged at 66 (downstairs@ "off"66 degrees). My house must maintain that 66 degree temp without any heat, or at least for the amount of hours I need it for. Even if the temp would be set at 67 or 68, the heat would run a lot more. I may have found the perfect "off" temp.
I started doing this about a week or two ago. Maybe in january I can see how much a month straight would do. i have a filter and energy gauge on the T-stat, so i can see how long they run.
I'm so psyched.
