I drowned a cockroach in my kitchen sink. It's fun to chase them around and manipulate them into running into the sink. If it's empty, I hose them down until they stop trying to get away; if it's full of dishwater, that's the prize! They just do the backstroke until they drown. It's great.

Cockroaches can survive underwater for up to 15 minutes. Just step on them.

Hard to step on them when they're on the kitchen counter. But it seems easy to chase them until they fall into the sink.

When they fall into the water, it looks like they stop struggling after about fifteen seconds. I wonder if the surface tension of the soapy water makes it easier for them to drown?

Cockroaches and bugs rule this world,

they outnumber us by trillions, they have been here for billions of years before us and they will be here for billions of years after we are long gone.

You may have squashed millions, but they are and always will be the dominant species on this planet.
