illegal to collect rain water in seattle

I was born in Seattle and spent most of my life in their suburbs. Beautiful city full of well meaning liberals gone horribly wrong.
Before you vote for a Democrat think of Seattle, San Fransisco, L.A., Chicago, ect and how they no longer represent the values of working America.

How very christ like.

I like your sarcasm, jnev. It really brings quality humor to the board.

I wouldn't actually ever do this, just venting. Ya knoooow.

you can't just assume farmers are going to use it properly, and only what they need. but they should be able to apply for permits to do if they can demonstrate that they will.

in general it's better for the gvernment to control the water supply than private citizens though

I can't believe there are Americans with this attitude. We live in a Capitalist society where those values are the basis of everything. There is nothing that the Government can control that is better for our nation, trust me I am a government employee. What Government does is take the money out of the citizens hands and place it in a few selected elites to do as they please. These elites then push thought processed onto citizens to justify their actions, like telling you they can CONTROL the water better than citizens if we just give them a little money to manage it.

they can though

they can though

I would agree that they do take care of the weak, uneducated, and lazy better than a free market does. If that is the people you are interested in befitting then yes you are correct. If you are talking about managing a system that is best for the bulk of the people and one that is motivating and encourages hard work then no they can't.

Big government only creates fraud waste and abuse of the citizens resources. Big government allows elected officials the power to control business the way they see fit to benefit their pockets. They will only manage the rainwater to pad their pockets.

trust me dude, i definitely agree with most of this...usually i like letting the free market find the best solutions for distributing goods and commodities. but i think everyone should be entitled to drinking water, especially since it is part of nature and not a good that someone produces. I don't mind my tax money subsidizing water for deadbeats and losers.
