IGF1 question

In order to make the acetic acid solution to mix, is Sarson's distilled malt vinegar (a clear vinegar,) ok to use to mix with distilled water. I know you have to mix 1 part white vinegar to 7 parts distilled water, but I do not know whether what I have is 'white' vinegar or not!
