I'm watching 20/20, and there's a cool story on masculine images and childhood. They're saying that most boys are natuarally more loving and emotional than girls, but it gets drummed out of them by society. So by the time they're 5-6, they're more aggressive.

I always wondered about this. I liked toy guns and shit like that when I was a kid, and one of my friends got a cabbage patch doll. I remember thinking it was odd as hell, but I never hassled him about it. Although, I think he got beat up a few times when he brought it to school.

Anyway, it seems like a lot of parents are worried about this. Some experts think that boys who play with dolls and do other girllie things, have a higher chance of being gay.

What's everyones thoughts on this? If I had a son, I'd be a little stressed out if he prefered playing with dolls to playing baseball, ya know?

The men in this society, not all of us, have become sensitized over the generations. Young men are told it's OK to play with dolls and it's not, they develop feminine qualities. Look at the Afghanistan boys, they are walking around with AK47's. It's no wonder that the terrorists felt they could pull off what they did.
Their was 4 or 5 terrorists on those planes with box cutters! Come on! Out of three planes only 1 group had the balls to fight back. Keep letting boys play with dolls and then you can hide behind their skirts in the face of danger!

I agree with Smalls. I don't see what the big deal is.
Sure it may seem strange if your son plays with dolls cause that is not the "norm", but, who cares? And, to say my sons have more of a chance of turning out "gay" because they may play with "dolls" is ludicrous. Who first said that boys were suppose to play with trucks and girls where suppose to play with dolls? it stems back form, I'm assuming, the man being the soul provider and the woman being the stay-at-home nurterer. Well, times have changed. Get with it.
