No, it wasn't planned, but the horror that just because of that, someone can decide whether a child has the "right" to be born has woken me up several times in the middle of the night

I agree. It is usually recommended that the women seek counseling after something like this. Sometimes we forget about the fathers that actually give a damn.

That said, if someone I knew had an abortion, my opinion would not change. No one knows why someone had to make a decision like that and the pain it causes.

Here's the thing, I actually am. I mean, I couldn't have coped at all without her. Laughable as this sounds, she was the only one who could ever possibly help me come to terms with the horror of what happened and am still heavily dependent on her emotionally

The act doesn't change my opinion of the person one bit. However, how the person deals with it does. Case in point, I know some who are too proud of their abortion. I know others who were tormented by theirs.

I don't see how it's any of my business. It's not something I would personally do but I don't think anyone should have to deal with a pregnancy they can't deal with. That's about as personal and awful a choice as anyone could ever have to make.
