if you had the chance to ask a top level powerlifter or strongman a question, what would it be?

If you could do it all over again, what, if anything, would you do differently?

diet & training is pretty clear: eat a lot of good food and work at getting stronger/better at relevant lifts/events. The thing I'd be most interested in is their wisdom and experiences.

Powerlifter I: What are their raw lifts vs. suited competition lifts?

Powerlift II: Best injury prevention/rehabilitation practices.

Strongman I: What are their lifting roots (i.e. did they start in the gym? on the farm? as a bodybuilder? as a powerlifter?)?

Strongman II: What style/ratio of lifting do they feel is most beneficial to their sport (olympic style lifts, powerlifting, strongman feats)?

Doses and Diets

dosages and AAS used are dependant upon weight class. the guys in the higher weight classes are going to be using Anadrol at 150-200mg's per day, in combination of 1500-2000mg's of Test per week. The high dosage of anadrol in the upper weight classes, is due to the fact that they dont have to worry about their body weight, and anadrol is one of the best out there as far as making strength gains.
most run high dose of some form of test, in the 1500mg/week range. throwing in dbol. I have found that the magic number as far as strength gains from dbol is at 60mgs/day (no, i'm not saying I'm some sort of top level PLer, but just from experience). During "off periods" a minimum dose of 500mg's/week of test is used to help prevent injuries.

As far as diets, in the higher weight classes, everything is fair game. eat any and everything. You dont' need a "clean" diet to get strong, you just need tons of Cals, to keep your weight up. the more you weigh, the better your body is able to adapt to heavier loads. can't really give you break down too much of a diet for the guys in the lower weight classes. but it is probably the same, just that they eat less, due to the fact that they need to keep their weight down to stay within their weight class.

I'd ask what the three most powerfull motivators to lift are for them.

could be a safe bet that any top level powerlifter would tell you that they want to be the strongest man alive in their respective weight class and that is what drives them to want to compete. if they are already on top (holding world records) their driving force is to stay ahead of the pack, and remain on top.

Mekannik.....

Powerlifter I: What are their raw lifts vs. suited competition lifts?

most top level PLers would have an idea about what their RAW lifts are, but really won't care as to how much they can do RAW (this is referring to PLers who dont compete in RAW meets). this is due to the fact that lifting RAW at a maximal weight leads to injuries. and we all know its not good to be injured.

Powerlift II: Best injury prevention/rehabilitation practices.

This may be a little random and all over the place........

As far as gym lift training, the 'magic routine' is a myth, not that I can't stand to learn a thing or two, but to me it is a no brainer, train progressively and eat for your desired bodyweight goals, I'd really just bring up routines out of curiosity and because I am a dork who likes to discuss that sort of thing......I'd have more specific questions with PL gear and Strongman implements, more so because I don't have huge amounts of experience with either.....I think top-level PLs could be a WORLD of help in giving tips on how to work the equipment.

I'd definitely ask the PLs their thoughts on equipment and if they feel it is out of control and how they react to both sides of the argument. I'd ask the Strongmen what lifts they feel give the most carryover to their events (I would ask out of curiosity and take it with a grain of salt as it is individual and if you asked the top 10 strongmen this question, you'd get 10 different answers).

With diet, again, you'll get a million different answers from pounds and pounds of lean meats a day to Twinkies, Taco Bell, and Guinness.......I'd actually be more interested in what weight class guys do to be honest with diet.

Not that I am a top level anything.....but to share some info. I have acquired over the years regarding strength athletes......weight class guys like to come in at the top end of the class while carrying as much LEAN muscle as they can......heavyweights like to weigh whatever they feel allows their best performance.

If I can debunk another myth, I will....it is the "exotic, designer drug" myth....strength athletes love what has worked for decades, test, dbol (or anadrol), deca, equipoise.

Illuminati said what I have come to find with dosages (with heavyweights) .....strength athletes I have discussed this with like a year-round 'maintainence' dose of 500mg test/week and they typically switch esters around every couple of months....as a competition draws near, they up the dose typically to anywhere from 1,000-2,000 mgs/week and add in the other goodies, some like deca, equipoise, orals (if they can tolerate them). As a side note, I agree that guys seem to like about 10-12 dbol tabs a day.......personally, that shit always made me sick at anything higher than 15mg and I personally feel any more is TOTALLY overkill, but thats just me, I never did well with orals and sides.

Lets see.....most athletes favorite stack is test/deca/equipoise on average I would say.

As far as Bodybuilders go, I can't answer because I don't care in the least, I do know lots of ball licking is involved though, lol.....

And drugs with the weight class guys, I never really asked because I don't care either.
