naah. the bible is too contradictory and violent for my taste. jesus was a pretty enlightened dude, but i don't believe he is god or he "is the only way".

Im glad for others that find the bible gives them peace, make them feel closer to god, and provide hope and whatnot. i'm even envious.

Im used to that, I gre up with my "christian" paternal grandmother saying I was an animal because I was never baptized and I was going to hell for many reasons (because my parents didnt praise the Lord, because we never thanked God, because I wore pants like men, etc) I hate that woman, tortured my all my childhood, adn when dad dies HE asked to be creamted eventhough she heard him ask for it, said we are pbad people and treated him and his body like a dead dog She's the kind of woman that throws buckets of water to Jehovah's Witness that go to her door....

I agree with Ebony, I am sometimes jealous of believers because they find strength and solace in the Lord and it helps them get by....

no way baby! My mom's a christian and prays for me every day, but she doesn't hound me in the slightest tiniest bit at all, nor I her. She knows that doesn't best express the love of God, to tell people they are going to hell. She is probably one of the best examples of a Christ-like person I know.

Also, I avoid churches so I don't have people telling me that kind of kooky stuff! lololooololl Some of the shadiest, worst people I know are in churches.

I don't give a shit anyway. Tell me I'm going to hell. I know enough to know that no person is in control of that nor has any say in it, no matter how much authority they think they have. They can tell me that they are judging me by my fruits, etc., I don't care. I'd "lol" @ them, and tell them they are more likely to go to hell based on what they believe and their idolatry, etc.

Then theres a whole lot of followers of the Quran making mistakes then. Whether it be terrorism or civil rights violations. A religion is only as good as its followers since we are all human beings living in the same world together. Like I said I dont really think any particular religion has a monopoly on their interpretation of which God exists. But you cant say the Quran is the best guide for a healthier and more perfect life. No way.

I do. its annoying as fuk. A few days ago i was in line for a club just trying to enjoy a nice night. there were a few "Christians" across the street yelling damning gospel. Had to endure their shouting for more than 10 minutes. some phrases they were screaming included, "stop, do not enter the devil's house, your going to burn in everlasting hell. Show some respect the lord, Jesus is your lord and savior and you will be punished for your sins. stop now or u will face the consequences and justice will be had, leave this devil's lair now before its too late. repent and you will be forgiven for your sins. Jesus loves you must start walking in His ways. Fear Him, respect him and go to Him, serve Him for your own good and on and on it went.

talk about respect, pffft!

wished they'd shut it. gave me a mini headache w/ all their screaming. when we finally got into the club, the blasting music was a relief.

I haven't been to church in yrs and people like that make church so unappealing. I'd like to start going agian someday, and if not a church, then a different place of warship. wish i could find a good church or mosque or temple where they don't spend so much time preaching about god's wrath and how sinful, evil, and broken i am, and needing to be "fixed" by god.

I like my god, who is a lot nicer. I remember a few sermons where i left inspired and oddly refreshed. wish i can find some like those again.
