If Jesus Were Here

if Jesus came back he would weap.

he would see the world of lies that has been constructed to decieve humanity rather than help it,

he would weap when he saw his words twisted by those who profess to work in his name.

he would weap when he saw 1 out of 5 kids in the most modern nation (USA) be below the poverty line, and suffer from mal nutrition and cold.

and he would weap when he saw how most of us are living are lives...surounded by the pursuit of materialism, and personal gain while neglecting one of the most important tasks wich is fostering meaningfull bonds with fellow humans and caring for them,

he would weap when most of us take instead of give...in everything we do.

our gross consumerism has seaped into our spirits where now we take in everything......and he would weap because in reality we all have nothing except our lonely selves.........

oh he would weap

im not trying to be faecetious here, but do you think if american and indeed world society was more socialist he would find it more agreeable

socialism is centred towards public help/services after all...

I do not know what he thinks but I could guess he would be more happy if the world in which will ALL own was shared more evenly

personally I prefer......not total equality...but more of a "rough equality"

conservatism doesnt lend itself particularly well to this (helping others).....i wonder what his view would be of western countries actions this century as well :(

public services are being erroded at over here and are even less common your side.....i think he would be greatly saddened.

why try and analyze "if" statments? The world as we know it has become a corrupt, moraless "beast" which thrives on human suffering and greed. I do not concern myself with what could happen or what if something happened, i only know that i cannot change anything beyond my personal space, i cannot change the world as a whole because it is simply impossible.

yes Danielson indeed.

its called the "3rd way" by Blair and his cronies.

they are doing it in Germany as well with Gerhardt Shroder.

I just think we have all been duped into the situation that we are in by a few .....these elite and the institutions they run are drunk with power, and there grip on the world resources and it's "democratic" institutions tightens with each passing day.

I say do not resign our selves to oblivion, do not give up......but fight damn it....fight.

we should not be devided by conservative, or liberal labels......by our religions, or our ethnic backrounds......we all have much more in common than most of us realize.

it's funny but when progress begins..issues like race, and politics are used by the worlds centalized media outlets to devide us....its a tactic that works all too well I am afraid.

the trick is to realize the trickery, acknowledge it for what it is, then ignore it and move on to our goals unscathed......

because "if" statments allow us to

visualize

vocalize

then actualize

when we engage in what "if's" we access a part of our brains that

allows us

to add our wonderful creative and warm thoughts to the "reality of the world" this pratice often leads to progress and the positive evolution of our societies.

just like the world of the market place is benifitted by innovation and new thinking........

so should the market place of human ideas

He may weep, but chances are that he would not weep for long...
From what I have learned of Jesus Christ, he would try to change the world that we live in that has become so corrupted.

No different than any other era, just different lies.

he would weap when he saw his words twisted by those who profess to work in his name.

I'd cry too if I saw/listened to: Falwell, Bakker (sp?), Sharpton and Jackson, etc.!

he would weap when he saw 1 out of 5 kids in the most modern nation (USA) be below the poverty line, and suffer from mal nutrition and cold.

Or, he might say; "Wow, these people have kicked some ass and come a long way. Used to be that 3 out 5 died before they reached puberty!" (non-validated ratio used for illustrative purposes).

and he would weap when he saw how most of us are living are lives...surounded by the pursuit of materialism, and personal gain while neglecting one of the most important tasks wich is fostering meaningfull bonds with fellow humans and caring for them,

Debatable.

You got me there.

...and he would weap because in reality we all have nothing except our lonely selves...

I like being a solo minimalist, I'm satisifed.

Damn...waaaayy to pessimistic for me! There's a lot of good shit goin' on out there too!

Later,

Jesus would weep, maybe. The world is not so different now than it was when he was here before...just a different time and social setting. People were poor, starving, and hurting back then too.

He would obliterate all the fags on earth and all the drunks in Ireland...

Indeed...the world is a better place than it was B.C.

The Roman Empire was pretty sick in my opinion. Gladiators........huh.

One cannot say that this time was any moralless or greedy or whatnot. I think that on the whole, the world is better off than it has ever been. In general...

in some ways yes

The things that make it seem like the world is falling apart are threats to our world today: terrorism and war are done on a much greater scale than ever before.
