I luv ya flah. Unfortunately, flah's assessment couldn't be farther from the truth, but this list will make it seem like he's telling the truth only because you have found my dirty little secret -- I am an IDM junkie. There, I said it! It feels good to be out of the closet lol.
Actually, ludendorf, you had already caught my eye with the old plastikman avatar. I had that album back in the day, and I spent way too many hours on acid staring at that album cover to forget that character . . . . As soon as I saw your avatar weeks ago, my heart leapt for joy, but I thought maybe coincidence only. But now I know we have three IDM junkies around. This is all I like now.
Below is a list of several IDM artists. My favorites are in bold.
Amon Tobin
Aphex Twin - the holy king
Autechre - the gods have spoken. Please check out this amazing interview with autechre in sound on sound:

μ-ziq - i love this ol' nerd. he's very cool, though few know
by the way, idm listeners in europe were actually measured to have the highest average iq's of any genre of music. While, of course, that does not mean idm will make you smart nor that someone listening to any other genre of music is dumb, you must certainly be a person of some intelligence and depth to be attracted to this music.
