Just wondering if this is POSSIBLE, I know its not a good idea but its something I must do. I am going to most likely be taking a physical endurance test for a job, Im hopefully going to be getting a job as a police officer. The test will include a 1.5 mile run that has to be done in 15min or less. I went out and ran today since Im not lifting this week to see if I could do that and I got it but it wasnt pretty. So needless to say I am going to have to at least half ass train for it. So what do you think I could do to gain or at least preserve my strength? The thing is I dont know when Ill have to take the physical test so Im not sure how long I have to train for it, most likely it will be a while, I will probably find out a week or two before hand, if I have 10 days to prepare Ill be ok but I need to get started here pretty soon just in case. What does everyone think? Eating a shit load is not a good idea either because I have to watch my height/weight/bodyfat ratio as well.
Any ideas are appreciated.
 
Well, eating is the answer. You just need to avoid going too far and eating a bunch of junk.

BTW, 15min for 1.5 miles isn't that bad. Just run the 1.5 mile every other day for a few weeks and try to bring your time down.

Or get on a good tread mill and force your pace that way.
 
Shock therapy while looked down apon by many is really a valid tool in mental conditioning.

Take large quantities of pcp, that will deaden your neurotransmitters that tell your body you have an owie and then you can lift a horse.

Just keep training and eating as you are, I don't think a 1.5 mile run is going to have any real impact.
 
how bout some clen for endurance; and anavar for added strength with no weight gain.

or you can go all out with a FINA/DBOL/TEST stack and scare the shit outta all of them.

Oh and I think the whole "gear" thing is out for now, maybe once I get the job, if I get the job.

No I dont juice, have I before yes but only once and that was three years ago.
 
15 minutes for 1.5 miles? Pffht! Any fat-ass dount-eatin' police officer can do that. Okay, maybe that's bit pushing it. I think you can do it but you need to do around 10 MPW (miles per week) to get under that time. The average finishing time for an average runner in 5K (3 miles) is somewhere around 20 minutes so 15 minutes for 1.5 miles isn't exactly a big octasble for you to overcome.

As of right now, forget about trying to maintain your bodyweight if you are trying to pass the test. Worry about it afterwards. Do 2 miles every other day and do it at a slow pace, no overtraining! Focus on your stamina and endurance strength.

2) 20 mins for the average runner for the 5k is unrealistic. You should say for the average trained runner. In terms of this guy, if he isn't training for the race, then he isn't the average runner. The average person off the street in now way could run a 5K in 20mins - hell, I know trained runners that can't run it.

That said, 15 mins for 1.5 miles is a 10min/mile pace sustained.

That is about as fast as the slowest people I know - so the main issue would be that you aren't actually running the whole time and are instead walking and then running.

work up so that you can run a mile to 3 miles everyday, and work up to non stop running and you should be able to do the 1.5 mile no problem.

that said, it will take time.

also, it sounds like you have genetics not on your side. I'm fortunate and can run under 5mins for the mile without ever training, and that is just my genetics (high max VO2) - but your training can help you max out what you were given.

good luck! it is all a matter of how much you want it.
(if you really want to do it well, do a day or two of speed training on a track every week)

I can run this under 15 now, non stop running, lol I feel like some fat ass now thanks guys j/k. I was just wanting to know how to improve it, I dont like passing a test, I like blowing the fucking test away. I like to do my best not just get by that was the main reason I was asking this as well as wondering if all of my hard work to get strong was going to be wasted. if you look up on google about "running intervals" - you will find tons of great info to get faster.
(it will raise your VO2 max, which means you are more efficiently using the volume of oxygen that you take in - meaning you are in better cardiovascular health)
 
Ive done intervals before Happy Scrappy, thanks for the info, I have an idea of what I am going to do so we will see how it works.
 
No offense but i don't think you are physically fit enought to be a cop, maybe a desk job. but you're going to get smoked any time someone gives you the peace sign on foot.

15min for 1.5 miles i ran 3.2 miles in 21 min when i was 9.

I would diet and do cardio first, you don't want to go in there just barely passing the physical standards. If i was you I would hop on some fina , train your ass off doing cardio and go in there and fuck those pussy ass phsysical requirement tests up!!!

Well first off, I do take offense, you dont know me. As far as getting smoked, I may, my speed is good as well as my strength, My endurance is not that good. I have not run anything other than sprints in 5 years until yesterday and I am just coming off a back injury in April that allowed me to do no exercise for two months, so yea I am a little out of shape. I am not going to do fina either. Its cool though. And I am glad of your accomplishment at age 9, thats great. I too have acomplishments as well my endurance apparently isnt one seeing as I am "not physically fit enough to be a cop". Just curious as to where you got that from anyway? I never said I was a marathon runner, but I dont recall saying that I couldnt do the "pussy ass" requirements either. Im not too ashamed of being able to pass the requirements for that test after a back injury that put me out of exercise for two months as well as not running for the past five years other than an occasional sprint session. But its cool.

I posted this here to get advice on what people thought would be the best approach to get my endurance up as fast as possible because I thought I may here some good ideas, not because Im a fat lazy over eating slob. Excuse me for taking offense but I would bet my next pay check that if someone came up to your little pretty boy ass and told you that you have a terrible physique that you would be offended. I was probably out of line and I am sorry, but the way you posted that came off offensive to me.

Day1
Try running fast for half a mile

Day2
Do the same as day 1

Day 3 - rest

day 4
Jog 1 mile

Day 5

Jog 1 mile

Day 6- rest

Day 7- Run fast for 1 mile

Day 8 Jog 1.5 miles

Day9- Rest

Day 10- Jog 1.5


you'll be increasing you endurance little by little but it works great.I did the same routine but I had to run 3.5 miles instead of 1.5.When i first started i couldnt even run a mile, when i was done i ran 3.5 miles in 23mins.

Well first off I would like to thank Bodhi for the running routine, I appreciate it.

Now for Mr Hippedy, the thing is, I DO NOT LIFT FOR LOOKS, I could not give a fuck less about how I look, I lift for STRENGTH, I am a fucking powerlifter so who cares what I look like, all that matters is how much I can bench, squat, and deadlift. You may look better than me, but damn your a fucking skinny ass rail at 5'10" and only 160-5lbs. Your a fucking twig anyway, and hell your bodyfat is good, thats fine. As of last Monday I weighed 180lbs@5'5" tall, and my bodyfat was at 12%. NO its not as good as yours but I am still decently lean, but once again I dont give a fuck. And by the way, see what I mean about the pretty boy comment, I was right.

Thanks Bodhi for the routine, I will for sure try the stairs. IN all honesty I think in three weeks Ill be running 1.5 miles in at least 10 minutes but we will see.

And the last thing I have to say to you guys is that I dont give a damn how short I am, what does that matter anyway? No I do not have short mans syndrome, I just know that I am better than you twig boy. Try eating a little and actually lifting, damn 5'10" and only 160lbs, you could achieve that by not doing anything.

And all that gear that I talked about having in that one post, I never fucking used it, I sold it to a friend, so the only cycle I have ever done was with Sustanon 250, 250mgs/week for 8 weeks, I have nothing to hide.

Heres another routine you can try in addition to bodhi's work. Set a watch for 10 minutes at a highschool track or something. Within every minute run 45sec slow jog and 15 sec of all out sprint. Do this atleast once a week but every week increase the sprint time. You may even want to make it 50/10 because 15 sec is a lot when your sprinting...especially after 10 minutes of this. Eventually try to get to 30/30. You can go for 5-10-15 minutes. if you are doing 40/20 for 15 minutes id say your in pretty good shape.

As a realistic goal id shoot for doing this in 9-10 minutes figuring an average person can do a 6-7 minute mile.

The ass kicking thing has a lot to do with the fact that Im a little drunk right now. I admit I flew off of the handle earlier, I am fucking stressed all to hell about this job shit, I am depressed because I got hurt back in April and lost so much fucking strength as well as getting fucking fatter than I have ever been, and so on and so forth. Thats why I took your post so seriously. I have never been so out of cardio vascular shape in my life, I guess thats what happens when you get hurt but I have a real hard time dealing with it, I used to not have to ever, and I mean ever run, and could still run a 7 minute mile, now a mile fucking kills me, and Im not even fucking fat. I am sorry for being an asshole, my bad. And thank you for the comment about the impressive lifts, I am no where near that now but hopefully I will back there soon, and then some.

dude the depression shit is in your head, life is not pretty sometimes , live and learn try to make the best of it. sometimes the worst shit happens to me and I think can it get worse hell yeah it can . fuck it smile. take out all your emotions at the gym, that is where noone can push you except yourself.
 
Yea I know that, dont get me wrong I am not clinically depressed or some shit but before I got hurt I was approaching a 400lb bench press(with a bench press shirt, 360 without), 525lbs squat(with a squat suit and knee wraps, 400 something without), and a 430+ Deadlift(raw), and that would have been in the 165lb weight class. I dont know how much you know about powerlifting but thats pretty damn good, not blowing myself up but just stating that based on records. Now Im not even squatting or deadlifting yet and I may be able to bench press 310lbs without a bench press shirt, thats fucking depressing. Oh yea and on top of all of that I could also have run at least a 7 minute mile then and never even ran any distance, just a few sprints to help with my explosion on squats. Now its like starting over, and I am wanting this damn job bad, this is what Ive always wanted to do and when you said I was too out of shape it fucked with me. I am not too out of shape for the physical part of the job requirements but for my personal feelings I am. Oh well it will come back eventually.

bro you can't blame yourself for an injury and say oh fuck i am so out of shape now. Once you heal you will have that motivation to exceed your previous physical shape. there's no doubt that getting injured or sick puts a major damper on life especially for athletes. was sick all summer from bronchitis lost 15 pounds got 2 carts of fina, regained weight and my strengh is thru the roof in week 4. bro this shit is a miracle drug I would highly recomend this shit. people always ask what I'm on and it also has a sort of euphoric feel like dbol does.
 
Trying to stay away from juice because morally I would feel bad being a cop and using gear, just because of the whole legal issue, I am not dogging on users, I would like to , and I may someday if my views change or whatever. Also, I am scared of Fina because of the progesterone gyno it supposedly causes with not type of known antiE for it.
