all of us. we went to a christmas party and got home at around 11. at the top of our driveway (the rest of it is steep and winds down a long slope to the road) is just enough room for my car, my son's, our pickup truck, and my husband's car.

except parked in my spot was someone's jeep.

i don't know who's car it is, or why they'd be parked at my house, since you can't see any other houses. THe nearest house is a trek through the snow, over rocky terrain, down into a gully, and through the forest. OR, they could very carefully walk down our snowy and icy driveway, down about 1/4 mile to my neighbors driveway, and up theirs, which is longer than mine.

i called both neighbors. nobody answered. so i've totally blocked them in, locked my house, and i'm going to sleep.

I would have had it towed!

i thought about it, but i think that would mean i'd have to call the state police (we don't have local police), and that meant having to stay up for a while.

it's still there now (and will have to stay there until i move my car.
so i'm going to shower, get dressed, and then call. :)

well... i got a vm from a neighbor. they had a party and didn't have any more parking spaces, so they told people to park at our house, and had someone drive them back.

orly?

i don't think so...

she said when they went back to get their car, they were blocked in. (yeah, it's MY house!)
so their guests would just stay there tonight and get their car in the morning.

my phone is ringing and i'm not answering it.

mighty GENEROUS of the biatch to volunteer the use of YOUR driveway!!

she would DEFINATELY be off the christmas card list.

Passive aggressive.

You should be a little bit more upfront with your neighbor and be like I would appreciate if you didnt have people park here.

Release the emergency brake, roll it down the hill, and set it on fire, that'll teach 'em.

They could have at least left a note either on the windshield or on your door. That's just plain rude to assume they can park there. Are you good friends with them?

Tell them when they ever come to get it that they are lucky you didn't tow it and to have some common courtesy next time.

I thought you lived in the sticks. There should be tons of parking sounds like your neighbours place has a long ass lane way why the hell would people park at your place.

It would never in a million years occur to me to tell guest of mine to park at my neighbors house unless I had specifically discussed the arrangement with my neighbor first and offered something in return for their hospitality towards my guests. How rude.

i do live in the sticks.
my neighbors have a HUGE, HUGE house, with a large parking area, but i guess they had a lot of people over and had no more room for cars?

there's no parking on the street... against one lane is a rock wall that our driveways are carved out of, the other side is a drop off into the woods. there's no "side of the road".

yeah, really.
ONE other time, she asked, but the person parking at my house was my other neighbor. i know their car, and they knew where to park so they weren't in my way.

but this time, i didn't know this car (jeep). When i went outside today, they were shoveling my car out. which they had cleaned off. It was a woman who said she was so sorry. I said, "you must be the owner of this car in my spot.... I was just about to call to have it towed."
She looked shocked and a bit annoyed. So i reminded her that i came home to find a strange car here, no note, and that the POLICE suggested I have it towed.
She said, "you called the police??"

No, i washed your car and filled it with gas. your welcome.

my neighbor brought a bottle of dom perignon over while i was out as an apology.

I would give it back..No reason why they should be buying you things because they are inconsiderate. I would bring it back and say no thank you, then casually mention that your property is not a parking garage and that you do not accept tips!

Doesn't sound like any neighbor that I would want to associate with.

oh, she's annoying. i don't have to deal with her often though. (her father is a famous hollywood actor).

i like your idea, except for one thing. I'm KEEPING the champagne, and telling her it wasn't necessary, but that she can't have guests park at my house anymore.
