bros - i was on my way home from a new job with the chicago bulls and white sox doctors office, I do IT for the doctors and was stuck from behind by a drunk driver at 50mph. im on soo much meds brin i dont feel anything, but my neck. my neck hurts the most. my car is totalled. 50mph in a 35 no skid marks, he just drove into me full force. and i hit 2 cars in front of me...so he hit 3 cars in one strike. then he took off, i jumped out of the car and he was gone....i was raging, i would of killed the guy if he was there......i called 911 and told them he was headed eastbound, in a truck, suburban or pickup, full size.....and they caught him, i think my call is what helped catch him.
i am going to take photo today of the car for my own sake. cops called the DA and said what to do with photos and stuff. he is in jail unitl 9am monay morning when me, the other 2 cars and the 2 people walking on the sidewalk, who seen it all happen have to be there.
i was in the ER from about 6:30pm until 3:45am. I got 17 stitches, had 20 xrays done, 4 cat scans...they had to shoot dye into my body to check for internal bleeding which was quite an expereicne. they shoot it in your veins and it is hot so i could feel it going through my wholre body in about 2-3 seconds....freaked me out... the doc said the dye is about 100-103* and because it is warmer than your blood, that is why i could feel it flowing. that was the scariest test the did.
i cant beleive this happened still. i keep picturing the truck in my mirror for what must of been a nanosecond literally. while i was being struck i could hear michael still talking on my two way about my new job. i only have one eye right now and it is blurred.
my HR rep seen the accident and drove around me when this happened and i sent her pics too, and she said not to worry, they already like me and know im going ot good there and not to worry about the job, i wont lose it and ot have a note to come back. ER said it is good that i work for doctors now, especially physical therapists, cuz i can have ongoing rehab if needed. ok, i have to go now, my neck hurts from sitting here.
you know, i have been in accidents before, i been shot at, i been in bad neighbor hoods, been real sick, but i never felt like i was going to die before until yesterday when i was hit a second time......all i could think of was my wife, our kids, parents, friends, etc......if i was an inch more to the right, my cut would of been on my temple and i might now be here right now.
