I want to start a supplement company ...

Ok before you flame the fuck out of me, I live in a country where
the local Supplement Companies charge 40 bucks per kilo of
whey protein, basically they match the American companies
prices but of course the prices are so high for EAS Prolab etc
because of the shipping costs... Now I was thinking if I could
manufacture protein over here I could undercut the local boys
and sell protein at a fair price.... Anyone have any ideas as to
where I would start??

If you're going to manufacture, you'll need to invest in equipment. You'll need legal & financial help. You'll need to purchase packaging, develop a distribution system. Hire salespeople, support staff and manufacturing staff. You'll also need advertising and marketing expertise whether you hire or outsource.

Buy protein wholesale and you'll significantly reduce your fixed costs, but you'll increase your variable costs. Either way you'll need serious capital if you're looking to compete against large competitors.

You can always start small. Find yourself a supplier of whey protein or whatever that deals in bulk (look to the Far East). Then buy it in bulk. Resale your bulk whey at a price cheaper than $40 per kg. That should be really easy to do. You will not make a shitload of money, but you didn't buy any manufacturing equipment or advertising either.

This is how I started. I was sick of all the crappy ass protein products that were out on the market. The only things available were cheap wheys, isolates, egg, and caseins. I wanted a protein that would give an influx of AA's when i first took it and that provided protein for 5-6 hrs after. So I made my own. I made different flavors and versions (MRP's, night mixtures, some with creatine). I took it and my friends took it. Eventually, I sold sold-out and made a decent chunk of change.
