I think I'm going to get fired

I'm getting mighty suspicious.

There have been heads rolling lately but I hadn't worried about my own status until today. I realized that I hadn't been asked to attend meetings on upcoming products lately. Everything for new products is being given directly to other dudes in my department rather than to me (I'm the lead and supposed to know all the workload plus be incharge of assigning work).

The times that I've known that people were going to get fired it happened somewhat similar. They would stop assigning work to them for future or upcoming products or anything that required follow up or was ongoing too much into the futre. They would also get asked to show others how to do certain tasks or parts of their job which they have asked me lately.

Crap, I hope I get some good severance pay

God it's a brutal world anymore. Best to get all your business contacts together, and be prepared.

Oooh, and negotiate! It actually IS possible to negotiate severance, google it ... I don't remember all the details but I do know it's not such a nutty concept. What's the worse they can do? FIRE YOU?!? Get EVERYTHING from them that you can.

last round of lay offs I witnessed was brutal...they sent out an Email for them to attend a meeting when they got there they where handed there last check and security escorted them to the door ...the company would not let them get there stuff ..the managers went to there desk and got there purses and car keys ...they mailed everything from there desk to them ...nobody even knew it was coming ...just bam your gone

I remember they fired almost the entire company here one day for "internet usage". Was like the Bush administration looking down on us. Really bad. I was left standing though.

OK, so I just went to my boss' office and started asking him questions about certain projects and told him about some ideas and plans I'd like to get rolling. He said some of that stuff soudned good, wnats me to pull a meeting next week to talk about it. So I'm either in the clear and just being paranoid or he's being good about covering it up.
