Last night I watched Dieselboy and AK1200 spin a tag team set in DC. Usually, the smaller room is the drum and bass/jungle room (holding about 1,000 in capacity) and the main dance floor is house/progressive/trance (holding about 4,000 in capacity)...
...on this night it was a "planet of the drums" party, and the promoters did a switch and put the drum and bass dj's in the main room. SO I sat there (actually danced, talked, walked, you know, the whole club thing) and watched 4,000 people TEARING up the dancefloor. It was insane, the beats were so driving it was like helicopter blades of bass fanning out aggression through the speakers. People were going crazy, climbing the dj booth to get a closer look at AK1200 during his set. He needed to tell people to get back, it was CRAZY!
im so glad jungle is getting the respect from the masses it deserves. So many mainstreamers got some exposure to this awesome sound, and the dj's worked the crowd for 4 hours straight, no one stopped dancing!
