I got this hook up through a guy in my day job,This club always has concerts,not sure about hot women but it should be fun.

I'll post later on how it goes,I figure since its a punk show it will be younger people,but I heard it can be a little rough,but I get 50bucks for 5-6 hours

not really,I figure aslong as I dont act like a prick nobody will have a problem with me,and if they do I am confident in my abilities,I just wish I knew the rest of the bouncers before hand and not just the guy in charge. hopefully the rest of the guys are bigger then him also,I figure he is about 6'0 150 which is pretty tiny

I don't know what the policy is where you're going to work, but I personally like to bring a good set of ear plugs if I'm bouncing a live show. Especially if I'm doing it on a regular basis. It makes it a lot easier on your ears and if you end up right next to a speaker stack, you don't have to worry about never being able to hear again.

Im in the same boat. Got to bounce last nite(for first time) at one of the downtown clubs/pubs.

Money seemed pretty good-85 bucks cash for standing around 4hrs talking to people. Wasnt real impressed with the girls who frequent it though, none of them were terribly ugly, just had kind of an overused look to them(which is a shame at such a young age).

Tonight was fucking crazy,all these fucking kids wanted to do was spill beer,break bottles and lip off,they actually shut it down early because a huge incident where a guy took a swing at the other bouncer and I put the fucker in a bear hug lifted him up and carried him out. I got regular work there but I dunno about these punk shows with just two bouncers for fifty bucks a pop. people started throwing furniture all over,it was fucked. next weekend I am alone so I hope its not to bad then,my conclusion is it all would have been avoided if the other bouncer didnt freak and kept a cool head

I agree if you treat people with respect they will most times treat you the same and I feel that about me will make the job a lot easier.

I plan to bring some next time as it was loud as hell and I was beside a stack all night.

I have to cover for the bouncer who freaked out,next weekend so things should be smooth. all buddy had to do was take the drinks away so they werent being spilled in speakers but he started pushing people and shit. it sure was a challange to carry someone out while trying to stop the other bouncer from hitting him and then stop his pissed off friends from getting involved. most of them however backed off when I picked their buddy up and put his skinny ass through a steel door using his back to push in the handle

Your not allowed to use Cattle Prods in Canada? They work great for "Crowd" control!

I like the idea about the ear plugs, however, they have me wearing a wireless radio w/headset which is a direct communication to the dj, bartender, cook and manager.

I've worked a couple of places where I had to use one of those. They're really handy for a bigger club.

What I would do with them is I'd use an ear bud headset and buy some of that moldable silicon ear plug material and mold it around it. Then I'd use a regular foam plug (they block more sound) for the other ear. It worked pretty well and most people didn't notice.

Man it sucks to bounce in druggy type crowds! One punch and if you hit their teeth and bleed who knows what the fuck they got! Bouncers should at least wear UF gloves with some surgical gloves! Cops wear surgical gloves all the time! Why bouncers don't do the same thing, I will never now!
