I sincerely do not understand why the U.S. gives so much to Israel, please explain:

LOL... the sad thing is that many foreigner know more about US politics and government that most Americans. Hell, most Americans barely know all 50 states (let alone any other country in the world including preznit Bush).

Have you ever tried naming or writing down all 50 states, it's harder than you think. I am very informed about America, but honestly don't know much about any of the policies of Europe other than they don't have a death penalty and Germany hates America right now which is a whole other topic in itself.

I knew all the state capitols in grade school and won a praise for reciting them. I can still name all of the states just by looking at my mental map of North America in my head.

Germany just remembers that war is not a good thing (considering Germany and their track -record of war in this century). They are not going to be labeled a bad guy again just because some Arabs are picking on some Jews (or vice versa). It is that simple.

England could have stomped our ass in the Revolutionary War. They were more tied up with their war with France and they really didn't think America was all that valuable.

The French did make our victory possible, they invested 6 million (in 18th century currency) and provided us with leadership and clothing among other things. Of course they did this because the war with us strained the resources of their adversary.

The US was always lucky in war until the last 50 years. Superpowers don't get breaks I guess.

Who thought that Vietnam would be able to stave off the mighty USA. The British may have had more success, but they would have eventually failed because it took many months to send reinforcements and a rediculous amount of money to fight a war overseas. You can also credit America for making a pact with France to help it fight the British, which by the way France only did because of their own interests in the region and their hatred for the Brits.

The Vietcong and NVA did not stave off the USA. America pretty much dominated every battle. The VC and NVA lost more men than we did. The problem with Nam is we would go and take over some "important" mountain, losing 100's of men to take it. Then we would hold it for a week and then just leave it. Lots of animosity over the politics involved over there.

That is not true.
Most people here disagree with the US foreign policy but i don´t know anyone that would cheer if some towelhead flew another airplane into a building.

Americans are still quite popular in Germany, the older people still remember the help from the USA after WWII.
