I need to remove windows messenger bad help

Ok how do i remove windows messenger of of my internet explorer bar and my hard drive. I took out the version in add/remove programs but it still is in there. when i look at the top of explorer the symbol is there and it allows me to log in. i really need to delete this it is important. help .

Why delete it? Just make yourself inactive if you are worried about people seeing you. If you use MS Outlook, I think it's part of the puzzle... as I can't close mine when I have Outlook working.

right click on the tiny little icon on the explorer bar, select "customize..." you should be able to find your way from there.
