i need some math help/i'm a tard

too many bong hits have destroyed my math skills
i'm trying to run a 3mile in 25 minutes on a tread mill
i can set the speed from 1-10, which i assume means mph.
what speed do i set it at to run 3miles in 25 minutes?

lmao @ speed 1-10 equating directly to MPH.

That's your first and fatal mistake, dipshit.

8, freak that would be 24 min. 3x8=24. If it only goes, 1 2 3 4 etc 8 would be the closest. 8.3333333 would be 3 mi in 25 min

how so?
what else would it equate to?
i set it at 10 and ran a .5 mile in 3 minutes
wouldn't that prove that 10=10mpg which in turn=6 min miles?

If this is true on your machine, then your fucked..or use a watch and the mile counter

8.3 would put you at 4.15 miles in 30 minutes, which equates to 3.46 miles in 25 minutes.

You need to do 3 miles in 25 minutes right, that is 7.2 mph...

Not sure where you and BW1 went to high school, but yall should have dropped out with me.

You need to run 1 mile every 8.3 minutes.
60minutes(which equals 1 hour)/8.3minutes(which equals 1 mile) = 7.2 mph

do you not think that treadmills are set to mph? what else would it be set to?

Eh... I really don't know, I just assumed that was like a 'VOLUME' setting on a stereo - no real correlation to any specific measurement.

So in do they sell metric versions then? that are set to KPH?

You see where I am coming from?

Don't ask me, I'll fuck you all up....Just get your fat ass on the treadmill and start running

I do know that there is like a 4% increase is pace on a treadmill vs real movement tho - due to the lack of resistance from wind / air.

So if you are really gonna run your 3 miles in 25 on the ground, you need to crank that bitch up a bit to be sure you can pull it off.

huh, wouldn't you still have wind resistance on a treadmill? afterall you are still moving.

i'm pretty sure it is set to miles, their is a track diagram on the monitor it it matches my rl track time
so i assume it is def. miles, but now you've got me doubting that it is accurate regarding mph

You are moving your body in place, you are not cutting through wind and air...

There is a difference... about 4%. Crank that mill up fatty.

do you think treadmills are overall accurate? this is fucking with me, i've invested a lotta cardio time outside but now the conditions are too bad for that so i'm inside for a while.
but i need to maintain a high level and accurate distance/time.
any more suggestions?

The hell kind of treadmill are you using if your torso is moving?

LMAO You're using the one at the airport?
yeah, it's actually one of those moving sidewalk thingies
i hit the escalators up to, good training right there

Yeah, and If you need to run sprints, just yell out "I have bomb!" and start fucking running, because they'll be right on your tail!

Those stairmaster escalator dealios are pretty solid, IMO.

No, its MPH. You may want to calibrate your tread if it hasn't been done in awhile, just to be safe. Otherwise, 7.3 might really be 6.5.

Yes, this is usually just changed in the diagnostic mode. This is so they don't have to make a separate treadmill for the fags overseas.

Don't listen to stickboy. You got treadmill questions you come to me.

Distance = Rate*Time
3miles = R*.4167-----> .4167 is 25/60 for the fraction of an hour you want
3/.4167=7.2MPH

Wow pot must've really fried your brain! lololol

today i set up a fan in front of the treadmill i was using to simulate an outdoor environment.
every now and then the trainer would dump water into the fan to spray me, simulated rain

I ran 1 mile in 7:15 tonight on the treadmill tonight. I'm getting ready for you. It's gonna be a good one and we have to keep it at a mile because I can't beat you in a 2 mile race.

How tired were you after doing that? I could do it, but I'd be gasping for air. I'm carrying a lot of weight.

i set out to run a 6 minute mile, i used to be able to no problem
but not no more
