I need some legal advice on some bullshit... any atty's in the house?

Not an attorney but I love getting outrageously worked up over a good BS story..........where the victim is an innocent and lovely. THE INJUSTICE!

I am good with payback ideas that occur outside the courtroom.

LOL you guys suck!

Its to do with a lost title for a car.

OUUUUUUU

yea... but I have to keep it on the downlow...

I'm going there today and I'm in a bitchy mood already so by the end of the day I'll be beyond bitchy.

Knot a mouthpiece, but I speak authoritatively all day about shit I know very little about.

Does that count?

Also Stefka is in law school and law students know a larger variety of law than practitioners. Once you get out of law school you specialize and don't deal with all of the other areas.

Call the law offices of Dewey, Cheatham & Snacky Cake.

If it is related to family law I probably can't help. Business, securities, or tax related and I may be able to help.

I'll send you a pm with a brief exp... its not family law, involves a family member.

Yeah, but I also dont have much of an idea how real life law works yet, so I'd probably tell her do do something archaic and overly-difficult. But hell, I don't have a license yet, so I cant commit malpractice...

Frisky, I think you might be able to go for a bill to quiet title. This is used when there is a dispute over who owns the property. You go to court and the judge decides who is the rightful owner. This might be difficult as you don't have the title, but there are other ways to prove it. Payment receipts, insurance, registration, testimony from people who were around when you bought the car - as much stuff as you can get your hands on that links you to the car.

But, there might be an easier way. I'm sure that people lose their titles all the time so the DMV or the court probably has some streamlined system to replace a lost title. If you haven't already, make a few calls to the DMV or maybe call the local court and talk to a clerk (he/she will be mean and impatient so keep your questions short). But someone there should be able to point you in the right direction.

I have a notarized bill of sale... and proof of insurance. That should be enough. However to get my plate I need the title, so its stopping me from getting all my other paper work done. There was supposed to be no lien on the car when I bought it and I was supposed to get the Title but never did. Now they are saying they need to wait for the bank. WTF? Its one big run around and I'm not a happy Frisky! LOL I think they are pulling my chain!

I had an old car I got registered out of state. They did not provide titles for cars over 20 years old, all I got was registration. When I went to register it in NC I needed a title. I told them I do not have a title because the state where I got it does not have titles for cars over 20 years old. It was a nightmare. They wouldn't call the other state either to confirm it. I had to get a letter written by the DMV (and notarized) to prove I had ownership and then give that to the DMV in NC to register the car. A big hassle for a $500 auto.

Did you buy from an individual or a company?
Find out which bank it is and give them holy hell, i would also threaten to sue (just for giggles) and see if that gets things hopping!

just stick Feisty back out on the corner and make her gobble double the amount of cawk. Then use the proceeds to purchase another vehicle.
