I need a history lesson on the Israelies and Palestinians

What the hell started all of this? I have a very vague understanding, but not really enough to understand it completely.

Can someone please explain the history between these people or point me to a place to read about it?

briefly because i am at work.

After the holocaust the league of nations for all intent and purpose gave land to jews, known as israel.

After some time, arab nations didnt appreciate the existence of a jewish land in its midst and attempted to eliminate israel with many military incursions. (some arab supporters would say that israel started some of those wars, but there is no legitimate backing for those positions as most historians recognize that israel was rarely the aggressor)

After these wars that israel won, time and again, israel took over land that it had won in battles. For example when egypt attacked israel, and israel won it pushed egypy back passed the sinai and occupied the sinai. After some time israel and egypt came to an agreement wereby israel gave back the sinai to egypt in exchange for peace which has existed till this day.

All of a sudden people known as "palestinians" claimed that israel is their land. Of course, everyone acknowledges that that there was NEVER a palestinian nation ever. And many arab countries (ie jordan) have a vast population of palestinians.

Arafat throughout the existence of israel has been a terrorist. klling many civilans. And many palestinian civilians have been killed as well by israelis. BUt israel has given arafat land time and again (gaza, ramallah to control) in exchange for peace. Has arafat returned the favor with peace? i will let you decide.

Arafat demanded many things from israel for peace at camp david while clinton was in office. Israel conceded and gave him 90 percent of what he wanted. More than anyone thought they would ever give. Arafat backed off and didnt agree. why? because he doesnt want a land next to israel, he wants a land instead of israel. Anyone who doesnt see that is blind.

Palistine was a country.. much like Rhodesia was.. it was taken away from them. They have a right to be pissed.

third, israel owns the west bank like the US owns texas. The US took it from mexico. Have we ever asked the americans to give back texas? What would happen if mexicans started blowing themselves up at malls and cafes and clubs in dallas? exactly! we would kick ass. and so are the israelis. Just because palestinians were there before israel doesnt mean they are entitled jack sh#t. However, israel repeatedly has offered them land and a state for peace. and the palestinians turn it down.
