I need a CD burning program.......

nero has been good since it came out, not as user-friendly as Roxio, but it never lets you down ... you will never regret it.

as for Roxio, it tends to run funky commands to the drive that means that even on superior burners, you tend to get a few coasters .... but with Nero, you almost never get coasters...

its so good, it's well worth buying (i bought mine), but if you feel you must pirate it, i've seen it everywhere, from the newsgroups to Kazaa.

also, you can download the trial program from ahead.dk and then go to astalavista.box.sk and look up the serial number and you will have the same version that everyone pays for ....

I agree I just downloaded Nero and after messing with it for awhile I thinks its a lot better than Roxio.

Not true, you can switch to Nero express and its just as simple as roxio or eaiser.

Nero express is really easy and I think Nero starts off in that mode. I prefer using Nero in regular mode.

Yup. Pretty fast too. Along as you have a 1Ghz plus process or and aren't running any systems resource hogging program it should convert a whole CD worth of 192kbps MP3s and the burn the CD in about 15mins or less.

It automaticly converts files into the correct format for VCD's also I think.

Nero's conversion off files to VCD format sucks big time. You're much better off converting the files 1st with TMPGEnc and then burning them with Nero.

Yeah, that would work for someone who wasn't lazy, so I'm stuck with letting Nero do it.

I like Nero so much now I'm thinking about just uninstalling Roxio.

I've never had much luck with Nero and XP. I had a bunch of buffer underrun or overflow can't rememebr which one. I would check my mem usage as this is usually what causes that error and they were always fine. I wouldn't have a single process running except for nero and the essential system processes. I've had much better success with My Cd Pro by VERITAS. They sold the product to a company called Stomp Inc. VERITAS still makes the product but Stomp own the rights to it. It's now called Click N Burn Pro I think
