on Friday I was given a new commission structer which I am not going to accept. They want to cut my base by 40% and increase commission by rougly 200%. I can't live with that kinda of instability in my life especially with the enconomy in the US so shakey. (That is where my sales territory is.) I have worked for this company for almost 3 years and moved up as far as I can probably go, so this might be a blessing.

Indeed this is why I am not accepting it. Sad thing is this sort of thing happens a lot to sales reps. You start improving growing and your wages starts getting to big for them so they need to off set the cost some how.

I am in computer hardware sales. The product I sell is in a dying market the company has come out with a new product line but they hit market too late with it and basicaly it will be old soon as well.

My sales record is decent. I have had a new territroy for about two months and each month I had increased the territory sales by nearly 100% the thing is I can't know for certain this will continue to happen. They are looking for me to promise that I can keep this trend going and I just can't.

The company is also continuely running into back orders on key product lines, which intern is pissing off my big customers. I don't see much of a future with them to be honest so like I said this could be a blessing.

Taps what do you sell? I know full well that a lost of sales peoples commission is the base of there pay but if I told you the figure they want to move my base to you would die. I nearly fell of my chair when I read it.

Fight hard for what you think is right, and be on the lookout for better things. Stick it out for a while to see how things go, and if there's no hope, move on.
