i just saw the movie The Siege(it's a few years old and i've seen it once) and it's got me thinking. you've seen it. terrorists attack new york and the army is sent in to take control. when i first saw the movie some years ago, i agreed with the army movin in. now i think about nazi germany when i see the tanks and soldiers moving in and the people can do nothing but watch. i see the loss of the city's civil liberties and think to myself that i hope this never has to happen or ever does happen. i've begun to rethink our country's middle eastern policy. we've got to rethink the whole thing. they attack us not only cause they hate us and our way of life but because we have invaded their soil. we have troops in saudi arabia, iraq, isreal, and lebanon. we've invaded their turf and we need to pull out. will this solve everything? i don't know and i honestly doubt it would but it would'nt hurt.
if you have'nt seen the movie watch it. it has me really thinking now. everything that happend in the movie seemed to be some sort of warning to us. sort of a glimpse into the future. the u.s. really needs to rethink it's policy for dealing with the middle east or some city may get the beating like nyc did in this movie and then the military is turned on the american people for something they had no control over. i think we've been warned.
