I received my order this week and have been comparing notes with sofa. The benefits just keep going and going, but do we want that much publicity? Especially since Sofa presented the human side of the issue. If this is medicine for children of Cosa Rica, we do not need to deplete the supply. Buy enough for our use and help out Lloyd, but not market it in such a way as it get regualted, and he is bought out by a major corporation. This is just my $.02. And before someone asks, I had over 800 posts, they got zapped to 300+- then down to 15, I have been a member for almost three years. And since I know Sofa is trusted here I will let him reply!

This is a BIG issue of concern to me. Lloyd never anticipated our interest, and his resource for manufacture was limited. I've been emailing him about his ramping up for next season. Carao has only a very limited harvest season... and is very danerous to harvest (high trees in the jungle... requires safety equipment and skilled climbers.)

The minimal publicity Lloyd has gotten just by our having discovered carao has almost depleted his stock... and there will be no more till the 2003 harvest. That puts more carao extract at probably 4-6 months away after he runs out this month.

He needs to be properly prepared to hire crews to harvest for him, have more space and equipment for his cold process for making the extract, money for insurance for his climbing crews, etc... It's all a situation I don't think he ever even considered until the last month or two.

I'm talking to a friend today who runs a major supplement company. I used to work in the industry so I know a lot of people. I'm going to see if I can get one of them to partner with him and put in some front money to ramp up his manufacturing capabilities. I think that is the only way he can look at producing enough for the children with anemia and still send a couple bottles to us juice heads.

He came across as a very good guy too...I have a feeling his product is on the starting upslope of a bell curve about to take off like crazy. God I hope he doenst raise the price though or I might not be able to afford it, at least for awhile.

I wouldn't mind paying a little more in order to help this guy out. As long as he doesn't double the price. This guy should patent his formula before it is stolen by one of these supplement companies.

This is why I said a little earlier that in a short time I think a lot of muscle heads are going to be helping sick kids in the third world. The carao guy is using his profits from the sales to us muscle heads to ramp up for a greatly expanded harvest and manufacture this spring. Every bottle we buy right now is providing profits that are getting plowed back into his business to help it expand. And that in turn is going to create a surplus inventory that he is going to be able to donate for the treatment of children with anemia.

Carao is simply the cheapest, best, and most cost effective cure for anemia that exists. Anemia is a killer of children in the third world. This is going to be a big boon.

So pretty much it is actually the best thing in the world that we all came upon carao. Anemia is a nutritional disease... and for the most part it is a disease of poverty. The people who get it would never be able to pay the price we pay for a bottle of carao extract... but by a strange quirk of fortune we are now creating a surplus of economic resource that is going to allow a valuable medicine to reach those sick kids for free.
