I saw a man lying on the highway. He had stopped his vehicle to help someone pickup Christmas presents that had fallen in the road. Some young idiot sped around everyone and hit him. His leg was all twisted and contorted, grotesque looking, it was obvious that he was dying and nothing could be done for him. That image is something you never forget. I wonder how much suffering he went through or if he was in shock and unconscious, which I hope was the case.

I remember seeing a kid drown when I was like 8. I'll never forget it. I remember seeing him and some other kids playing around near the edge of a bay and then just seeing kids crying. Next the police show up and they run in the water feeling around for him. Finally one of them finds him and they drag him out. They do mouth to mouth and pump this milky looking stuff out of him but nothing. His mother was so freaked out it was nightmarish. That gave me a feeling I've not forgotten to this day and pro'ly never will. It really makes you think when you see someone die up close and personal like. Sorry, this thread reminded me of that.
