I just got a DUI and I need some advice badly...

I just got pulled over at a "safety check" earlier and got arrested for a DUI.

I had maybe a 3 beers at a friends house, then decided to drive home w/ a friend. If I had been 21 at the time, it wouldnt have been a big deal. But im not. Im 19.

I refused a breathilizer. I refused to answer any questions w/ out a lawyer.

What chance do I have of getting out of this? I was always told, refuse a breathilizer no matter what, and don't cooperate. So I didn't.

What the fuck would you do? Anyone have any experience with this?

Give me some advice, it's badly needed.

Here's what i'd do first: Get a lawyer


In Cali, if you refuse anything while under the influence, then you're getting a suspended DL.


My friend got a DUI recently, he's still able to drive, but only to and from important places like home, school, work, etc.

In illinois, they could have givin me a zero tolerance ticket for refusing a breathilizer...but they didnt. This means they gave me a DUI based of their own reasons...I think I may be able to fight this in court. Has anyone had any experience with this and succeded?

Well in Michigan if you refuse you are automacticly guilty. I only would reccomend that if you had other ones. They are going to be hard on you due to your age....in Michigan it would be restricted/susp drivers lic, 1 yr probation, subtance abuse counseling, community service, victims impact panel and fines and costs. Hang in there!

by refusing to take the breatalizer, you get one year suspended license. you can get an occupational, but you really screwed your self without any lubricant by trying to act like tough shit and not taking that breather.

here's some advice for the future. always be honest and polite with us, and unless it's a bad day, you'll not get anything you don't deserve.
