in Phoenix AZ. It runs right up until my due date, which is cool because I would have to take off then, anyway. It is a good chance to make some cash before the baby is born, and this law firm says that they could have so many projects coming up that it could turn into a permanent position.

Now, I just have to work out the logistics of how to get there, where to stay, and how to afford it until I get paid the first time. Still, I'm happy though. It is good money.

That law firm that my friend promised he was opening up is still not opened and I am beginning to wonder if he is EVER going to make a move on it. So, this is very good that I have something else.

:elephant: Joy to the World, all the boys and girls. Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea. Joy to you and me! :elephant:

why would you care about that? i'd say fuck it and stay home preggo
all the hazards out there, you don't wanna damage the unborn

If you become the bread winner, can I move out there with and watch soaps all day while the kid gets into everything?

I have to make money. I would rather BUST MY ASS in the AZ heat before he gets here and make some dough.

Here is the really bad part. The job is consulting for discovery in a complex case. Boxes and boxes and boxes of documents in warehouses in Phoenix. It is going to be hot as hell with me prego and ready to pop.

I'll do it. The little guy will be posting in C&C all day lol...I'll even teach him how to say bad words.

no no no...he isnt' allowed on here. lol.

I hope he doesn't decide to come early now. Plus, I don't know how I'm going to make all my doctors visits and things now. I have it all worked out for KY not AZ, but I will figure it out, I suppose.

Oh yeah, and another cool thing, is that I can wear jeans to work, since I won't be working from their main firm. I don't have to buy a bunch of maternity suits. Frankly, I haven't even bought one.

I'll be your proxy in KY. Just send nekkid pics to my phone, and I'll bring them to the doc to see what he thinks. Sort of a virtual doctors appointment if you will.

Me, no, I'm not well off. I grew up very poor -- sometimes no food on the table--poor. I have made some good money as a lawyer since I've been out, but then my hubbie lost his job and I was paying a big mortgage and everything myself, went through a divorce, etc. So, I went through most of my savings taking care of all that mess and then opening my own firm. So, when I left my last ex bf, he made sure that I left without a dime. He cleaned out the accounts, etc. Not nice. That is why I was a bit bitter...lol.

I will turn it back around again though. I saved $50,000 in two years before my hubbie lost his job. I can easily do it again. It is just the initial getting back on my feet that I need. I want to put in the long hard hours before the baby gets here. When he gets here I need to focus on doing a good job being a mommy AND bringing home the bacon.

I actually may have to drive there and back. :worried: Lots of planes won't let you board the plane if you are really that far along.

HR, as a consultant you are always "suspect" by the employees. Consider yourself one of the "Bob's" in "Office Space."

Jesus, I hope you learned a valuable lesson there. Never let control of the money out of your hands, ever, ever, ever. :worried:

The End. :)

My ex-wife cleaned out the bank account when we decided to separate and left me with $200.00. Luckily, I got paid the same week and could cover my expenses, I didn't even have a credit card at the time. She claimed that she did it as a pre-emptive strike because she thought I would clean out the account based on advice from her lawyer. It just goes to show you how after almost six years someone doesn't understand you. I GAVE her everything in the dissolution, 25k in cash plus the furniture and anything else she wanted, and she still complained when I wouldn't take on half of her 50k student loan debt. She took on over half of that before we were married and I had just as much! Needless to say, marriage isn't an attractive option for me anymore.

That's why it's always important to be in control of your own finances...man or woman.

I learned the same lesson the hard way too. It was the best lesson ever, I started over and took control of my own destiny thereafter.

Best gift I have ever had thrust upon me, literally, worst/best of my life.

I actually did take care of all the finances, she just closed the joint checking account. She always bitched about me having a separate checking account, I used my debit card for business expenses, good thing I did or I wouldn't have had that $200.00.

The worst part is that after six years you would think she would understand me; Not at all and that's what bothered me, not the money. The teller told he rthat she couldn't close a joint account without two signatures and that she should go to the parking lot and forge my signature. You wiminz are evil.

Not all wimminz are evil. You just have to find one who is honest.

She, was not, unfortunately.

She's a good person, she just took the advice of a divorce attorney.

I was a divorce attorney. I never advised people to leave the other destitute. Wrong is wrong.

I won't be that type of a consultant. I will be basically getting discovery documents and analyzing/organizing them. No one will fear the sweaty pregnant chick in elastopants going through boxes and boxes and boxes of papers.
