I hear back from Penn state tomorrow

decision was mailed on friday so its coming in the mail tmorrow. im afeared! it wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't added pressure because of my girlfriend. NOT ONLY is penn state my number one choice school, but if i dont get in then i wont be able to be as close to my girl should we still be together (for the first time im actually feeling pretty confident about a relationship, this shits for real ) . if i dont go to psu things are gonna be fucking rough with dating her and i dont like the added stress of that fo the next 24 hours. o well ill report back when i hear :/ 3.5 gpa all honors/ap sats are 760 math 640 verbal (1400 total) so i should be more then ok. still nervous tho :/

You'll get in with those scores. I'd put money on it. A couple of guys in my shop went there before dropping out and enlisting. I'm sure their scores were nowhere near as good as yours.

I'm sure you don't need to hear this, but don't let your g/f be the main reason for choosing a school. I'm not going to go into details b/c I'm sure you heard the schpeel.

I went to PSU for four years. Are you applying to Happy Valley or to a satellite campus? If you go to main you are going to have a blast, great college town. I miss it sometimes.

With those stats your a shoe in a PSU, depending on what major you choose.

Now as far as making it with your girl all they way through college, very tough my man. Both of you will grow into new people.

i know not to let my girl influence my decision more then a little bit or even at all. it just s o happens my number one school also is the most convenient for us becuz she wont have graduated. i figure if we both make it through my freshman year then its worth persueing afterwards......

It seems like it'll be tough now... but you'll move on to a phase of ur life where ur learning and living so much... it'll be a distant memory.

i predict the same thing will happen. but if im still with my girlfriend im not going to just throw things away just because im goig to schoool. chances are things wont work and even if they could work we would still grow apart however you just never know and ill never throw something away "just because"

argh. hopefully you'll receive the decision tomorrow. i remember going through something similar last year... i got early admissions to 7 of the 8 schools i applied to (2 were the same school, but different programs), but didn't get early admissions for my first choice. (In Ont. most of the schools send out early conditional decisions in March/April and then again in late May.) i didn't hear back on this one till may 29, when the decision was FINALLY posted online. but, i got in and here i am. lol.
