firing an employee (even one who deserves to be let go) can be just as, if not more, stressfull on the supervisor as it can be on the employee.
one job, in between college semesters, turned into 2 years of employment. prolly because i in the right place at the right time, i was promoted to management.
i had to terminate several employees, with varying reactions. one woman's libber tried to stab me with her ink pen. one teenager promised to "beat up my car".
the most stressfull one was a 35 year old man/boy. ( i was all of 21 at the time). this 6-1 220 pound off and on weightlifter dissovled into tears and literally got down on his knees, begging for another chance. i was so shook up I had to leave work early that day and have a late liquid lunch to get over it.
