I have not been convinced that this war is just.

Someone enlighten me. I believe this country may be making a terrible mistake. I admit that I'm ignorant in the sense that I don't keep up with politics or world events very closely. But the way I'm seeing this is that we are attacking a country based on the premises that this country may attack us in the future because they supposedly have weapons of mass destruction. Do we not have the same weapons? Does that give some country the right to attack us because we may attack them in the future? I may be mistaken, but I just heard on the news that GB is a born again Christian and the words "Crusade" escaped his lips. Whether he was saying this is not a crusade or it is, I'm not sure. The Muslim world believes that's what it is because it has happend before to them at the hands of Christians. I remain at this time unconvinced that this war is just.

It is a difficult and complicated issue, but at its heart, the people in power are not looking out for the interests of the American people.

They are looking out for their own interests. In the end, the US will suffer for the small gains in wealth for the upper crust.

This blip in American history will be looked upon as a time of shame, but hopefully it will only be a small phase, and not part of a larger pattern.

You come to school with a killer snack or dessert of your momma's homemade brownies and the big kid that sit way way across the lunch room is eyeing out your brownies.

The big kid has to have your momma's brownies because he's the big kid and thereby better than you.

He will have your brownies whether or not you surrender them to him. He will push those in his way aside to get your brownies and do what he needs to get the brownies from you no matter what - even if you get in his way, you will be removed.

When he grows up he realizes that he should just skip you and go straight to your momma for the brownies.

I would imagine that the best interests of the American people would be the economy and world stability. This is as objective as it gets.
