I have no problem running someone off the road and killing them

Yes people who mosey along in the passing lane bother me a great deal however it does not make me want to kill them. That seems a little excessive.

Two of my close friends have died in car accidents...so I know the dangers of bad driving. But driving fast and driving recklessly are two different things.

You would think that this would be some sort of incentive for you to consider driving more responsibly. Apparently not. And, driving fast and driving recklessly are not 2 different things.

The fast lane is for 75-80+ minimum, unless there is no one behind you. If you're going 75 and there's someone who wants to go 80 behind you, it's your job to let them pass.

That's interesting. 75-80 minimum, eh? Last time I checked, 80 will get you a ticket just about anywhere. Police will usually give you 5, maybe 10 over, but 15+ gets you an appointment with the judge.

So...the $1.64 question; if the fast lane is intended for 75-80 minimum as you say, then why do you get tickets for doing it?

You're not supposed to be IN that lane unless you're passing other drivers, so technically, if you're in that lane with no one in front of you, you're driving illegally. You're supposed to pass people, and get out of the way of the person behind you, then they do the same...it's the unwritten rule...everyone should know it.

You're driving illegally??? ROFL! That's rich.

"Honest officer, the traffic law guru on Elite Fitness told me I had to be doing 90!...what do you mean I'm getting a ticket anyways?!?...I'll see you in court, and I'm gonna get Johnny Cochran to defend me!"

C'mon dude, you're smarter than this.

You got it all wrong. If they are going the maximum speed, you are not even allowed to overtake them.

Maybe you need to save your machoism for in the gym.

If you are bothered by the phenomenon maybe you should Try and practise your democratic rights calling for a higher speed limit.

Actually, a friend of mine got pulled over the other day for tailgating. She said the cop said "I would give you a ticket for speeding, but you were just travelling with traffic, so I can't." She ended up getting $100 ticket for tailgaiting, even though she was going 80...because if you're going with traffic, cops won't pull you over.

If everyone on the road is travelling at 80mph, and you're going 65, YOU are the most dangerous person on the road. Ask any cop, or driving instructor you want...they'll all say the same thing.

Driving fast does not equal driving irresponsibly.

This keeps traffic moving and avoids accidents involving slow drivers getting in the way of faster ones.

If it wasn't for fucks like you who think they're above the law and endanger other people and then preach safety, There'd BE no faster and slower drivers. People would stick the fuck to the speed they're supposed to go.

hahah! I am too busy to get into with you, guy. What I will say is this- I am not above the law and realize that any time I drive fast I deserve a ticket. HOWEVER, it is the law that the left lane is the passing lane. It is not my fault that they don't hand tickets out for this. They should. IMO people that disobey this law are the most dangerous people on the road (other than the drunk drivers and whatnot). ANd my original rant was about these assholes not moving out ofthe way for traffic.

so if everybody is doing it then it's no longer breaking the law? that doesn't make much sense. i imagine he was well within the law to write her a ticket for speeding but chose not too.

It's an unwritten law...even cops know it. If you don't know how to drive on the highway, then stay off of it...or keep your slow ass to the right.

Actually didn't they pass a law this past january saying that the left lane is passing only and you're not allowed to be in it unless passing? If that's true, which I'll look into it, you would indeed be driving illegally by holding up the left lane.

As far as I know...that's always been a law.
